PP that just got in and referred... Can you share your scores? |
Did anyone from EagleView ES receive the letter? |
Letters are sent out by the county, not by the schools. Some schools separately contacted parents, though. |
I just posted this on the other thread too, but I'll put it here too as there was a request for the scores.
DS just received the acceptance letter. He has the following scores: CogAT: V 128, Q 115, NV 129, Comp 127 NNAT: 138 GBRS: 15 WISC IV: FSIQ 141, VC 130, PR 135, WMI 141, PS 126 |
Hi Congratulations !! could you please post his scores !! I have referred my DS too, but unfortunately he has GBRS of 8 and the NNAT and COGAT were 121 and 128 respectively, I have my fingers crossed. |
what were your test scores/GBRS if you don't mind me asking? |
14:55 did you submit the wisc-iv scores with your original packet, or do you just have them in case of an appeal? |
Hooray! Got the letter today, and DS is in. We have option of Local Level IV at his school instead of sending to a Level IV center. Keeping him in the same school as his neighborhood buddies seems like the right thing to do. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information out there on differences between Local and Center, so hard to weigh pros and cons. Thoughts anyone?
CogAT: V 122, Q 124, NV 137, Comp 133 NNAT: 126 GBRS: Never asked (but teacher enthusiastic so assume it's decent) |
Cogat 132, NNAT 137. GBRS No clue but will find out because I'm curious.
We just got our acceptance letter. |
Accepted.
Cogat 124, NNAT 160. GBRS no clue |
If a child is found eligible for Level 4 services, then that means he/she can go to the center or local level 4 if a school has it.

copied from other thread.
3rd grader, parent referred this year. Was in pool last year, but with 9 GBRS did not get in. Chose not to do WISC. Appeal was denied. Used same FCPS test scores from last year. New teacher this year, MUCH better fit. Really has challenged ds, and he has thrived. Accepted this year with: Naglieri 121 (90%) CogAT Verbal 120 (89%) Quantitative 121 (91%) Nonverbal 148 (99%) Composite 136 (99%) GBRS this year 11 Our plan is to keep him at his current school for Local Level IV. He does not attend our neighborhood school already (we opted out when he started K). We feel uprooting him from his "familiar" school would be a detriment to him socially and emotionally. I know there are those who feel that they do not want their children to be in the school based Level IV with non Level IV students, but I do not feel this way. |
Still did not get a letter in the mail ![]() |
Disappointed!!!
My DD did not get in . We did not do CogAT but had a full score on Nagiliere of 160. His GBRS score was only 8. Does anyone know if this low GBRS is considered again in the appeal or is it only the new info. that counts. What else does one include in the appeal accept the WISC scores? |
Prior poster, I think GBRS, whole previous package is included in the appeal...but I could be wrong. I appealed last year (our GBRS was 9 last year), without WISC, just new letters, and new work samples, and was denied. This year, I parent referred with no new test scores. New letters, some writing samples, etc. New GBRS was 11 this year (new teacher in 3rd grade), they still used last year's scores, and my ds was accepted. Our GBRS did increase by 2, from 9 to 11. I thought the general consensus here was a 12 GBRS was needed, probably higher if test scores are not already in the pool (we were in the pool last year). After requesting, and looking at the file last year from our AART, I was pretty certain the GBRS along with a really poor work sample submitted by the school (IMO, not typical work for my ds) kept him out. Some things you can include if you choose to appeal are letters (we used family members, piano teacher, religion teacher, coach), and work samples. In particular, I think strong writing samples were recommended by our AART. If your AART is helpful, you can ask what other ideas they have. Highlight your child's strengths. I included the text to a song my ds wrote (he sang the tune, but I had him type the words up as our submission). |
