What’s going on with the two bills?

Sounds like the CPC is starting to fall in line to pass the Infrastructure bill. The case for holding it isn't there anymore. A few weeks ago it was plausible that holding the Infrastructure bill could build pressure for full or close to full Social Spending bill. But the marginal moderate / conservative Democrats held their ground and that did not pan out. At this point sending the Infrastructure bill down again builds risk of nothing passing and isn't going to make the Social Spending bill any larger.

The power was always with the Senate where the margins are closer and the Democrat Senators are more moderate.

Those on the left will always lose out to the whims of the most moderate members of the party. Always. The only way to fix this is to follow the Republicans' example - elect more ideologically extreme candidates.

Someone please tell Bernie that. He is currently acting like HE is Speaker of the House and President of the United States instead of one Senator among 50.

It continues to force Manchin and Sinema to stay engaged in BBB though. Once that infrastructure bill is signed, I can see either one of them walking away from BBB with some new made up objection.

It sounds like the Progressives are holding the line, and I'm glad they are. If they pass the BIF now, they have no more leverage.

Sounds like they’re still plunging ahead with today’s vote?

Anyone feel bad for Nancy? This was supposed to be her swan song.
