DEMINGS has much less national and legislative experience than Duckworth, who now has relationships in the House and Senate. Also has no foreign policy experience. No way the readiness argument is there. |
People are overthinking the room. Pelosi should be VP. |
I don't want clapbacks, I'm so over drama. Love Val Dennings. She really shined in the impeachment hearings. Smart and an amazing voice, rich and smooth. She can learn skills she's missing. |
^^Val Demings! |

Get it right! |
I’m feeling like its going to be Susan Rice. Out of all on the list, she is the closest and seems to be the most trustable to Biden (from an outsiders perspective) which is his main criteria. |
I just don’t get the Demings adoration. She was lackluster, at best, during the impeachment hearings, and ‘regular church goer, former Police Chief, rides a Harley and has a 9mm’ are not qualifications for the Presidency. If anything, I view most of those as negatives (bad ass gun toting Harley rider...seriously?) Susan Rice is probably the most competent and experienced woman under consideration, although Kamala Harris is a viable contender (just wish I could trust her more). I’ve wanted a Democratic female President (or at least VP) forever, but I wish that Biden hadn’t limited himself during the most important election of our lifetimes. |
You don’t get it. You are not the voter the VP needs to help draw in. The liberal elite are voting for Biden no matter what and are completely onboard with Susan Rice (read likeminded liberal elite). Kamala Harris is a first term senator with less experience than Demings a two term Congresswoman and Harris also appeals to the liberal elite. She along with Rice were from middle/UMC backgrounds with fathers professors at Stanford and Cornell, and mothers who were an attorney (Rice) and a PhD cancer researcher (Harris). Rice also went to an elite private school in DC (same as the Gore daughters) In other words, not very relatable to those Biden needs votes from - the non-college educated. Contrast that to Demings who grew up in a 2 bedroom shack along with six siblings with a mother who was a maid and a father a janitor. Her school was segregated and she went on to be the first in her family to go to college. Who would you trust to represent your interests and understand your plight if you had a high school or less diploma in a non-coastal elite area of the country? Who would you trust to protect your 2nd Am rights (the one with a gun? ) and who is going to relate to your religious beliefs (the religious one?). |
I hear what you’re saying, but uneducated Midwestern evangelical gun toters are not going to vote for Demings or any other black man or woman. That’s just reality. BTW, I don’t think that informed, educated voters should be disparaged as ‘liberal elites’. Im tired of pandering to the least common denominator (and I grew up poor in a 2 bedroom ‘shack’, too). |
I am a fan of Demings as well. Could you see her as the next-in-line for 2024? |
of the ones listed, susan rice would attract a primary challenege in 2024 with the highest probability. a primary challenge in 2024 against an incumbent VP would be disasterous |
yes, moreso than rice and harris. 1. duckworth 2. demings |
OK, all the susan rice pushers should put their IP's up to jeff for banning if she isn't picked.
