Who else is suddenly really pumped for November? I can't remember the last time Democrats were this excited! Probably 2008.

Yep, absolutely getting the same vibe

You are getting an exciting vibe from the democratic process being blatantly disregarded in favor of the power of a few? Weird flex but ok go off

The only people who think that are conservatives. It's not the Democratic process, it's internal party decision making which presents a candidate for the democratic process.

So primaries don’t matter? Is that what you are suggesting? The will of the people doesn’t matter?

They do. She was on the ticket. Nobody is upset about this, except Trumpers.

She was on the ticket as VP.

What I find truly hilarious is that when Biden was the candidate, all anyone could talk about (in horrified whispers) was that if anything happened to him, *Kamala Harris* would be president - the absolute horror!! And that a vote for Joe Biden was really a vote for Kamala Harris as president. And now, all of a sudden, Democrats are pretending that this same person is the very best candidate in the world! And she’ll make a great president! It’s so, so funny.

The spin being put on this truly horrible candidate (who millions agreed would be awful, up until one day ago) is something to behold.

literally everyone is endorsing her and she's raising an insane amount of money... i'm not sure what the spin is here.

So you won’t admit that just a day ago, the general consensus was that she would make a horrible president and that everyone would be holding their breath that nothing would happen to Biden in the next four years, thus making her POTUS? I mean, at least be honest. That was unthinkable. But now, apparently, Ds have convinced themselves that cackling Kamala will make a fine president! Yay, she’s so fabulous! Okaaaaaay….

I have never heard any concern about her being president if something happened to Biden. I don't know where this spin is coming from but it's another spin. That's been likely was generated from one of those Russian Internet sites that have been trying to sell division in our country. Try to get your news straight.

The difference being that Obama was actually a good orator. Kamala will string together her nonsense phrases and idiots will applaud. We’ve all seen it before.

Kamala is actually an excellent orator in places like the judiciary committee. Very sharp, precise and concise. She had trouble making the transition to dumbing it down for the masses and especially for being a sharp orator while still being “likeable” (which women must be. Otherwise they are b*thcy). She is a lawyer and was a prosecutor. That’s a different skill set than candidate. Hence the odd sharp remark with a laugh and smile that don’t match it in 2020.

I’m hoping three years of meets and greets and VP feel good stops have honed her soft skills. Because she is most definitely not dumb or incompetent or a poor communicator. She did have trouble dumbing it down in 2020 though. Let’s see what she’s learned.

Wait… you’re going to go with she has been “dumbing it down for the masses”?? Are you high?

There are tons of articles about this, many of which are linked in this thread. His team hadn’t been polling so Pelosi showed him how bad the polls looked for him and warned that he could take the House and Senate down with him.

Deeply enjoyed Stephen Miller freaking out on FOX. He’s quite upset that the voters voted for Biden and now Biden dropped out.

I’m glad Stephen cares about Democratic voters so much. I feel the love. ❤️

i do not understand why when all the polling shows she has no pth.
can someone please explain why? am not allowed to start a new thread.

Cite your polling.

DP but she polls better than Biden in most categories with the exception of old white people. Also, before it was a hypothetical. Now it's reality. We'll see how much things change now that the Democrats have a fresh ticket instead of a tired old man with dementia. Haven't we all seen the Trump show before? It's a tired act. Harris brings a generational shift and fresh energy to the ticket at the top. And don't discount having the first woman President as being a thing for Democrats and younger voters.

+1. I’m raising two Gen Z voters. They would have voted with zero enthusiasm for Biden. But probably only because we raised our kids to believe voting is the responsibility of every adult citizen (kids had to go with one parent when they voted, if they did, we got Mellow Mushroom while we watched returns, etc). They are fired up. Which is essential. Because Boomers will always vote. Dem win if Gen Z turns out. But, Gen Z won’t turn out, writ large, for meh vs worse meh.

My GenZ kids aren’t fired up. One said he’d vote for Whitmer. Maybe they will be, but not yet…

are they going to vote for Trump?

DP. My GenZ kids are voting for the Republicans. They’ve made that very clear.

Should've raised them better...

They’re probably lying to their Republican parents to get them off their backs.

DP. It’s funny how you actually believe GenZ will uniformly vote for Democrats. Echo chamber, much?

There is a large swath of angry young men, mostly white. We know them as incels, bros, and betas (though they think they're omegas). They have been sent down a rightwing rabbit hole online. If they disconnect from their screens for five minutes, they would probably vote Trump or kennedy.

He lost his party. They asked him nicely and quietly to do the right thing. He didn’t. So ever larger members of the party said or leaked that he should go and donors stopped the flow of money. Good, bad or neutral— Dude was pushed out. No other way to say it.

Now I get it! She’s so intelligent that she can’t talk to us regular, stupid people. No wonder I couldn’t understand what she was saying half the time. It’s clearly my problem, not hers!!!!

Kinda? She’s a sharp lawyer. She talks like a sharp lawyer. And no, that’s not how the most of America without a college degree talks or receive information in a 24 hour news cycle. Today, they need sound bites and memes and things that engage low information voters. And she just wasn’t good at that stiff. I think she’s had three years to learn. I hope she has.
