I don’t get how or why they contacted her considering they dates 30 years ago for a few weeks. Did they go through a list of old girlfriends asking for dirt or who’s still upset he got away?

I think Johnny's a mess, and that his lawyers are doing a simply awful job here, but I don't think that Ellen Barkin was such a great witness. If was a juror, I'd think -- this guy is 60 years old and has dated a lot of woman. The only woman they could find to say something bad about him was someone he dated 20+ years ago for a couple of weeks, and even SHE says he didn't hit her? That, to me, would lead to an implication that the defense lawyers had talked to all the exes and they all supported Johnny. I would have thought it was better not to put her on at all, then to put on such a weak witness.

I’m not a fan of AH but after seeing these lawsuits, why do you suppose no exes are talking bad about him? He’s still holding the purse strings for Vanessa and the adult children despite Vanessa’s money. He’s also proven to be vindictive. I’m not surprised they are supporting him to keep the crazy at bay.

I don't understand why they didn't subpoena the previous partners of both, certainly pertinent. Why not Franco and Musk? Why not the Disney bosses who actually made the personnel decisions? The evidence seems very...incomplete.

A Disney rep gave testimony. They said the decision wasn’t based on AH’s story.

Lack of chemistry with Jason Mamoa was the official story. I think both could be true. Maybe Mamoa didn't want to work closely with her because of the bad press. I could definitely see bros closing ranks.

There was no fan campaign to get Depp fired, there has been a sustained social media campaign to get heard fired. If you’ve spend any time on Twitter in the last 18 months this would be evident

Last time everyone quickly believed her and rushed to immediate judgment. Nobody stuck their neck out to defend him because they didn’t want the msm or social media posse to attack them.

Now that the tide has turned on cancel culture, people are criticizing her and defending him…because it’s safer to do so now.

You can’t honestly have forgotten that he was quickly labeled violent and abusive as soon as she made the allegations?

Please cite some contemporaneous news coverage backing that up. I am not speaking with absolute surety and am open to being proven wrong. But I follow celebrity gossip very closely and was a JD fan. I remember reading many articles about his growing unreliability on set and about the multitude of delays the pirates set faced due to his issues. I remember reading many articles about their extremely volatile relationship. I have seen many many many instances of vitriolic amber heard twitter campaigns in the last few years and specifically many many many calling for her to be fired from Aquaman. Every time aquaman made news, people were trying to get her fired and bringing up the double standard. I recall years worth of campaigns pro JD saying he was a victim of her abuse. I have followed this case on and off for honesty like 8 years. I do not recall reading even once that he should be fired from Pirates because of abusing her. I do think he might have gotten fired from Harry Potter because of the drama, but that isn’t what he has been arguing here.

I've tried to listen to the testimony on both sides, but for me it comes down to a few things... 1) AH admits that JD wanted people around when they argued or fought. If he really was an abuser, why would he be the one trying to bring in a mediator or witness? 2) On the audio tapes, she admits several times to abusing him while he is caught on the audio tape saying there can be no physical violence. 3) He's the one who seems to be fleeing the fighting, while she doesn't seem to be fleeing at all and she doesn't seem to be afraid of him (or in fear) on the video or audio tapes at all.

I think they are probably both narcissists, but at least he is smart enough to maintain good relationships with his staff and some friends and family. I also think there was an uptick in his substance abuse because he didn't really love her and knew he messed up in leaving VP and his kids.

He will settle if he has any money left.
