Who else is suddenly really pumped for November? I can't remember the last time Democrats were this excited! Probably 2008.

Yep, absolutely getting the same vibe

You are getting an exciting vibe from the democratic process being blatantly disregarded in favor of the power of a few? Weird flex but ok go off

The only people who think that are conservatives. It's not the Democratic process, it's internal party decision making which presents a candidate for the democratic process.

So primaries don’t matter? Is that what you are suggesting? The will of the people doesn’t matter?

They do. She was on the ticket. Nobody is upset about this, except Trumpers.

She was on the ticket as VP.

If you vote for someone as VP, you’re saying you have confidence that they can step in as President at any moment.

Which is amusing because virtually NO one had confidence in KH stepping in as president - but now they claim she’s a fantastic candidate! The best! So excited!

Except, people elected at 77 year old to POTUS. Not a 47 year old. A 77 year old. Knowing full well that if anything happened to him, she would step in as POTUS. Which— heart attack, cancer, stoke— can absolutely happen at 80. So, they had more confidence in the decent chance she would, in fact, step in than they did in Trump.

Johnson wants Biden to resign and then will refuse to confirm a new VP which will make Johnson next in line. All he has to do then is hope something happens to Harris. I suspect that Democrats are not interested in playing that game.

Any citations to back up this crazy fever dream?

Joe Biden will go down as not only one of the greatest Presidents but as a hero who saved America by uplifting VP Harris, a Black/Asian/young/tough/smart woman. She will prosecute the case against MAGA, especially abortion.

I don’t think he is fine. I think he is much closer to death than we have been told.
It’s as if you’re manifesting Biden’s demise. What an awful, crappy person you are.

“Manifesting Biden’s demise” is not actually possible, though I am sure you believe it is entirely possible. Maybe try wearing a few of your quartz crystals that claim to stimulate brain activity. Perhaps you can persuade one of your two brain cells to divide, so you get four to work with.

+1
What a truly stupid comment by the PP.

Why do you say they'll be Obama like?
They are very different people.

Her rallies in 2020 were truly inspiring.

No they weren't.

Look. I want her to win. The last thing this country needs is 4 years of Trump.

But you all need a better strategy than gaslighting people about how she performed in 2020
And falsely equating her to Obama because she to is half black.

Amen to that. The silliness on this thread is actually making me laugh.

i do not understand why when all the polling shows she has no pth.
can someone please explain why? am not allowed to start a new thread.

Cite your polling.

DP but she polls better than Biden in most categories with the exception of old white people. Also, before it was a hypothetical. Now it's reality. We'll see how much things change now that the Democrats have a fresh ticket instead of a tired old man with dementia. Haven't we all seen the Trump show before? It's a tired act. Harris brings a generational shift and fresh energy to the ticket at the top. And don't discount having the first woman President as being a thing for Democrats and younger voters.

+1. I’m raising two Gen Z voters. They would have voted with zero enthusiasm for Biden. But probably only because we raised our kids to believe voting is the responsibility of every adult citizen (kids had to go with one parent when they voted, if they did, we got Mellow Mushroom while we watched returns, etc). They are fired up. Which is essential. Because Boomers will always vote. Dem win if Gen Z turns out. But, Gen Z won’t turn out, writ large, for meh vs worse meh.

My GenZ kids aren’t fired up. One said he’d vote for Whitmer. Maybe they will be, but not yet…

are they going to vote for Trump?

No. But, not sure if Harris will get them to the polls.

Really took teaching your kids their civic duty seriously didn’t you?

Here we go again…you know as a lifelong Dem I believe it’s up to the Dems to earn a vote. It’s not up to GenZ to save democracy. I wanted to vote at their age because Clinton was dynamic. They voted to save abortion access in the midterms, but let’s be real and admit the Dems haven’t done much for GenZ. They believe America is on the decline. So stop taking about TA Trump, and start inspiring young people.

Practically speaking, who suffers the most if Gen Z doesn’t step up and save democracy? Spoiler alert: not the Boomers.

Saying stepping up isn’t their job and Harris isn’t perfect either kinda misses the point. They don’t vote, they are the demo who takes the biggest hit.

So tired of the perfect being the enemy of the good and us telling people that they have no responsibility for how their life turns out. Or that they don’t have to make decisions unless one is perfect. As if adults don’t face decisions with imperfect options every day. They get two job offers. Both have downsides. And you tell them… hold out and I’ll support you until the dream job happens? Come on man.

I also think Dems have to earn the vote.

If your kids show up and write in I respect their choice. If your kids show up and vote third party because the Dems didn’t earn their vote, I respect their choice.

If your kids just don’t show up? They have poor values.

How anyone thinks Whitmer has what it takes to win a national election is beyond me. She looks creepy and comes off fake.

Typical MAGA can’t look past a woman’s appearance.

Funny how you always call anyone who you disagree with a “MAGA.” No doubt that comment was written by a liberal. We are all well aware that liberals are HUGELY hypocritical when it comes to sexism and misogyny.

Literally no one likes her not even her own party. I've read she's pretty much a republican anyway. I think this was a bad last minute decision they should have been working on this over a year ago.

But it’s fun how they’re all pretending really hard that they LOVE her.

You all don’t get it, it was Trump’s turn to become a dictator and end democracy. It’s not fair. Now the country will continue its normal path to growth and wealth for all. We can’t have that

Kamala is actually an excellent orator in places like the judiciary committee. Very sharp, precise and concise. She had trouble making the transition to dumbing it down for the masses and especially for being a sharp orator while still being “likeable” (which women must be. Otherwise they are b*thcy). She is a lawyer and was a prosecutor. That’s a different skill set than candidate. Hence the odd sharp remark with a laugh and smile that don’t match it in 2020.

I’m hoping three years of meets and greets and VP feel good stops have honed her soft skills. Because she is most definitely not dumb or incompetent or a poor communicator. She did have trouble dumbing it down in 2020 though. Let’s see what she’s learned.
