I think the idea is that daphne and her kind are just a different kind of prostitute |
Dark triad personified. He put his mask back on when he left the bathroom |
That's how I took it. But who knows? |
100% yes. |
| I think they are his kids and he doesn’t doubt it. He just doesn’t prioritize his kids. Honestly most men I know would have the same reaction. |
I feel like this is going over everyone’s heads — The theme of the season is suckers and exploiting others — and Ethan is the MAIN sucker. Harper was manipulating him like Megyn Markle manipulated Harry. Toying with him, pressing his buttons, poking his insecurities, tug and pull until she has him wrapped around her finger. And the finance sociopaths successfully corrupted him, so they can land a chunk of his cash and extract management fees. Ethan was being played from every angle. |
| I thought it was a boring finale. |
Sweetie, drunk adults—one sleaze-bag psychopath and the other a sexually frustrated vengeful wife in a failed marriage—don’t sneak off up to a hotel room and lock the door to “kiss”. Whether they did or were interrupted before they could, they were going to have sex. All 4 of them are gross. |
| I wanted more Dom! Maybe next season and he will be with Laura Dern. Her is such a great actor but we didn’t really get to see his range. |
She told Portia that Greg wouldn’t get anything if they divorced, but would if she died. |
No, not at all. The point is to show that Daphne is the aggressor. Daphne leaves town, triggering his fear of abandonment, and Cam acts out. Daphne shows Harper she actually had a kid with her trainer, Cam has to suck it up because of his fear of abandonment. Daphne gives the same dang speech to Ethan as she did to Harper. She says she does whatever she needs to do to not feel like a victim. Geesh - she is not the victim, she is the provocateur! Harper and Ethan may be sexually reawakened, but more than that they are relieved to married to a real live person and not a psychopath. |
The interview with Mike White at the end confirms it. |
| The fortune teller lady warned Tanya way back in the initial episode about danger in her future, and said (in Italian) that people will try to kill her but there were no English subtitles to what she was saying. She was saying it as she left the hotel room. Mike White gave us a big hint there. |
Thé interview basically confirms everything about the season. |
| What annoyed me is that Tanya had her phone with her. She could have texted *anyone* that she was trapped on a boat with drug dealers who had weapons, and they would have sent the police. I mean, I know she was an idiot, and that would have destroyed the satisfaction of having her kill her would-be killers. But still. |
