Jesus dude. Take a breath and give credit where it's due. Time enough to shit on Democrats after Memorial Day. |
I was going to come post/ask about a similar theory. I just don’t see how any of this ends with Putin alive. He’s trying to undo world progress that can’t be undone. There’s no going back to the USSR power of the old days. And he seems just old enough and crazy enough to not back down, it’s like he has nothing to lose. He’s hurting his own people in the process with sanctions and military fighting. At the end of the day he may just be willing to launch nukes, but there have to be people around him who are not suicidal and don’t want to see Russia destroyed with bombings in return. Is there any other way this ends, but with Putin dead somehow? |
It wasn't just Putin's actions, but mostly Zelenskyy's courage and his heartfelt and eloquent pleas for help. Had Zelenskyy left the country, NATO would not have grown a backbone. Zelenskyy has led his people so beautifully and because of that, the citizens of Ukraine are determined to defeat this enemy. I give full credit to Zelenskyy for uniting the world against Russia. His social media posts demonstrated his will and bravery in the face of capture, torture, or death. He is the hero here. |
TBH, this is a wealthy Boomer white guy phenomena. They can't handle that the world wants to move on and evolve; they want to burn it all down before they leave the earth. It's crazy. |
Zelenskyy is my hero. Putin would have taken the ride. |
Good point, I think he is toast if he even as much as tries to attempt any larger scale assault on other nuclear powers. They are negotiating today.. Let's see what happens. I think my kids are starting to freak out about nuclear war because people are talking about this. I want USA to be distanced enough to not put our citizens in danger, I am a coward like that. Hopefully Russian will do the job for us.. |
Yes I agree brave, eloquent, charismatic hero and leader. I think that combined with the US not rushing in like some Kool-Aid man of world peace police allowed countries to step up, unite, do good things. |
He is your hero as long as Russia doesn't aim their missiles towards the US.. Or as long as they don't target your area with the massive cyber attacks to make it uninhabitable for a while. Once your kids are cold and hungry, we will see how you will cheer foreign officials bravery that may drag us into a war we were trying to avoid for many decades. I will admire from afar.. as long as we don't get deeply involved |
So what should Zelenskyy and the Ukrainians have done instead? |
You think Zelensky should have handed his people over for Russian slaughter to protect the US? Even if this were to come to US soul, I would still admire and respect the hell out of Zelensky. |
+1 Zelenskyy is one heck of a leader. I cannot believe that a guy who did comedy/acting/dancing for a living before becoming President has the guts to do all this (considering he did a comedy sketch of playing the piano with you know his what). He has a law degree so he is educated too. Just the way he has led his people. RESPECT. The world needs more leaders like him. |
Your assumption is that Putin could be appeased. He couldn’t. He was never going to stop at Ukraine, at some point he was going to cross the line into NATO territory. He put bounties on our soldiers’ heads, and attacked our personnel at the embassies. We were eventually going to get involved. If all goes well, Ukraine will do the hard work of destroying his army for us. |
What a defeatist. Looks like when the going get tough the conservatives run, hide and switch side. |
If Putin wants to attack us he is welcome. He will be destroyed. He knows this. As it is we will likely have to move large numbers of troops to the NATO countries because Putin is not done. He will take Ukraine at some point. He will have been diminished none the less so he will want Latvia and the other baltics to get himself resotored. They are NATO. That does not happen. Fight will be here soon enough. |
The most courageous people in history have been ordinary people with a strong moral conviction. It's that unwavering moral conviction, knowing that their cause is just that propels them in leadership roles. Your run of the mill politicians or dictators simply don't have it, which is why they typically run in bunkers. |
