That's lacrosse, defenders get no love, especially from WaPo who doesnt really know whats going on.

WaPo is dumb on lacrosse. Way overweights VA publics.

I don't know, looks pretty good.

A lot of the DMV got represented, too.

The world's newest sports journalist asks the coaches of the trip programs for all the HS sports stuff. Maybe the coaches don't know anything?
Anonymous
The WaPo selection process has never been good. They have very young reporters making decisions, sometimes taking coaches’ comments into consideration and sometimes they just look at stats. It stinks because it’s a missed opportunity for meaningful recognition.

Has Visi hired a new coach?

rinse, wash, and repeat.

Visi AD will hire another "Dad" coach. He will last 2 seasons MAX and the story repeats itself.

Visi program is a shell of what it once was.

Its the entire Visi athletic department, not just lax. The hoops team is a shell of itself too, same with soccer (another new coach). There seems to be a disconnect with the school and the parents' expectations.

It just doesn't seem to be a sports school to me. Seems like faith and academics are the priority. Nothing wrong with that, but if you are serious about sports, the WCAC or schools like Stone Ridge appear to be better plays.

Dont disagree at all although didnt used to be that way. There is a reason why folks love Gonzaga, St. Johns and Prep and dont feel the same way about St. Anslems. Ask SR if the school has more spirit now as compared to 10-15 years ago.

Families choose Visi for its emphasis on community, service, and faith. While sports aren't the main priority, most students, including the athletes, are comfortable with this. School spirit is VERY strong.

You missed the point. School spirit is strong now because Visi fielded good/very good athletic teams for many years. Looking forward, that may not be true and, as result, school spirit will likely suffer. In order to succeed in today's environment, you have to be smart and prioritize athletics not woke, equity nonsense that the current admin supports.

I agree with the previous PP. School spirit is very strong and I don’t think it has anything to do with sports. The girls love the tradition, competition in the classroom, recreational sports games (gold/white IYKYK) and sisterhood. You definitely don’t choose Visi for sports. Academics are too hard to attended just to play basketball or lacrosse. I think that’s been evident for years.

So what’s the problem with equity???

Turn off Fox News you punk a$$ and just say you don’t like black, brown and gay people.

Have the balls to put the actual words behind your bigotry instead of punking out behind phrases like “woke”

What a fall from greatness. Visi used to prominently post the number of Lewis Trophies the school won for winning the top overall ISL sports program. No longer. Visi used to be the clear 2nd best team Lax in the ISL next to SSSAS. No longer. Now the 4th team, after SR, Potomac and Saints. Dismal record against their top rival SR over the past 5 years. The hoop team, once at the top of the ISL has been surpassed by Sidwell, Bullis, Potomac and Maret. A similar fall in Soccer. Pretty amazing to see such a rapid decline in such a short time.
