Before the DB debacle round deux, people suggested that team is staying with McLean. FVU sounds like a complete disaster with the continued risk of losing their badge. That said, I’m not sure why you would switch over there at this point vs letting the next few years play out. My hunch is FVU takes a few players from Valor and the rest are a mostly crew of kids from other clubs. And Yes, this team will not be competitive in ECNL for a variety of reasons. The only thing that may change all of this is a really strong coach, which seems unlikely given all of the recent antics.

Do you think ECNL takes away their badge with them being only one of three options in the area? And one of the other optionshas possibly been considering GA?

Will VDA and Arlington be strong at 2014? Based on track records, VDA will not be and Arlington doesn’t seem particularly strong either.

The McLean 2014’s are not the same quality as the 2013 McLean group that went to FVU. I think they would need to combine with other kids in ffx county to be competitive and I don’t think many from the outside will look to go to McLean. They are no longer a destination club.

Oh interesting. Looks like they added https://gwsports.com/sports/womens-soccer/roster/coaches/jeremy-williams/1065 on the girls side. How feasible is it to coach college and club at the same time? I would assume college comes first, so would that be a hinderance to the kids?

ok and what about field space for practice and a responsive punctual front office. What commitments do they have. That coach is an awesome addition but how does the overall package compare?

Bandaid is a bandaid. They have a lot to fix.

He was already a coach at Union.

He’s listed as coach or assistant coach of half the girls teams, on top of coaching college?

They understand that they have to stop the bleeding before the start of ID session season.

Yes was already coaching the 08 team. He is just a placeholder for the 11s until they find a replacement for next year.

No question they have a lot to fix but two years straight of major changes have been tough.

If you’re coming from McLean and you are evaluating coaching assignments, do you really believe the McLean AGD, that will most certainly be the u13 coach, is a better option than whoever Union chooses? I think Union could choose DB again and it would still be a better option.

Does FVU have issues with field space? Tell us more.

Nope, no affiliation with Valor. What did I say that was inaccurate?

Valor kids are so poorly trained and not technical, I honestly can't think of any girls who came from Valor on any FVU team.

Yes, but the 2014s have a few technically strong kids who train a lot outside of the club as do most kids.
