Ok, but what are the odds the Dems will secure his stepping down from office to give VP Harris a chance to demonstrate leadership and an ability to govern? |
Man I am feeling better and better about our prospects of avoiding the horror of another trump term. Lets GOOOO! |

DP. I get that you think this is a winning retort, but seriously? The oldest presidential candidate in history will always be Joe Biden. Just because he (finally) dropped out doesn’t mean he wasn’t the D candidate for many months. He has the dubious distinction of that being part of his “legacy,” before he was forced to withdraw. But do keep crowing with your lame gotcha attempts. |
no one that old has ever been elected. with all the problems we have today, i just don't think this is the time to go with someone so frail. no gotcha. |

No! This would only help Little Johnson and ilk when they twist themselves into knots to litigate. Two things deliberately occurred before Biden agreed to announce. The sweet spot for him was after the RNC and before the DNC. Why? Because Trump is now the official nominee. Biden is not because the DNC isn’t until August 7. Joe made it clear in his letter: “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President, and while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.” Biden then immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his replacement at the top of the Democratic ticket. Donations and delegates rightfully transfer to Harris. Biden focuses on finishing his term while Harris campaigns. He issues a few executive orders to remind GOP he’s still got some game left. Any attempt by them to legally challenge withdrawing or substituting candidates on the ballot ahead of the election is moot. Biden isn’t on the ballot. Cite below KEY FACTS: 1. Laws about changing the nominee wouldn’t apply to Biden since he dropped out before the convention. 2. Any lawsuit challenging Biden dropping out “will have no legal basis whatsoever” and “would be a purely political act to create controversy where there is none.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2024/07/21/biden-drops-out-gop-threatens-to-sue-over-ballot-change-heres-why-its-unlikely-to-succeed/ |
Most voters do not want to make their decision based only on abortion access. But here we are. |
Trump is the oldest nominee in history. The GOP is running a walking corpse. |
Yes this is why the right has to gerrymand and restrict access to voting. If it is such a right wing country let's get rid of the electrical college and filibuster |
+1 The giddy, cocky simpering on this thread is fascinating. And also entertaining. |
