Why would anyone buy Meghan honey for $28 when I can buy locally at my farmers market or health food store???

Don't be a jealous royalist hater. Lots of people really love honey and love Meg even more! ( and yeah, I am being sarcastic).

In all seriousness I think I can buy honey for $3 at Target. Get with the times, Meg.

Then go buy it.

You guys fail to understand that not everything is for you.

I don't buy $500 sweaters because I can buy one for $100. Doesn't mean I have rampant hatred for the person who designed the $500 sweater.

Some of you truly just need to get a grip. No one is forcing you to buy her products.

No, no one is forcing us to. Thank goodness, or at least not yet. But still the mark up from 100 to 500 for a sweater or 5 to 28 dollars for honey is because of this, taken directly from her website As Ever:

“As ever is more than a brand - it’s a love language. Created by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, As ever welcomes you to a collection of products, each inspired by her long-lasting love of cooking, entertaining, and hostessing with ease.

This curated collection has been crafted to elevate your everyday and inspire moments of joy.

As ever, for me, is an extension of how I love. Through thoughtful gestures and small details, I hope this collection brings you as much joy as it does for those I hold close.”

And wow, does that seem to work on many people.

I, on the only hand, in my hate wagon, see Alicia Silverstone from clueless saying: As If because Meghan Markle reminds me most of the clueless California girl she played in that movie than anything else.

If you buy into the over-marketed, sculpted calligraphy of As Ever, Meghan will thank you all the way to the bank.

This. Small batches means easy to sell out.

I can't believe it sold out, not because there is anything wrong with those products, but because all of these items are readily available at most grocery stores. The products aren't unique. I just can't imagine that many people actually want to buy expensive crepe mix.

I wonder if her friends bought everything.

You canceled your subscription because you didn’t like a recipe the NYT published? Yeah, that’s not unhinged at all…

+1. Maybe they are just trying to expand their audience. The more subscribers, the better. (Out of curiosity though, I wonder what demographic Meghan mostly appeals to. Who is her audience?)

Reminds me of that pea guacamole recipe way back when.

DP. I'm into honeycomb but her product looks mostly liquid honey. Did she say where the stock will be coming from?

I thought Netflix was going to sell it at their stores.

...because not everyone is as cheap as you are.

What are the odds that her products are of any quality? The labels don’t say locally grown, or organic, or anything similar, is that correct?

She radiates cheap in her work and products and self. Its not like the rollout of other brands like Carol’s Daughter back in the day, or Flamingo Estate these days. She could have made a mint doing a Tabitha Brown deal at Target. There can be integrity at any price point, but Markle doesn’t seem capable of it.

I actually believe a significant part of her audience has always been people like the previous poster. They “hate” her so much they can’t help but read up on every single thing she does including a random pasta recipe in the NYT. I feel mostly neutral towards Meghan and I had no idea that recipe even existed. And while I had seen the preview for her show on Netflix, I had never watched it. Still, the people who “hate” her have not only watched the episodes to analyze the fake level of each interaction and speculation about how each celebrity guest was coerced into participating.

The thing is, you can’t buy this kind of publicity. The people who obsessively “hate” her enough to fuel this level of engagement are literally keeping her in business.

So dramatic. Like canceling an NYT subscription over an effing parfait recipe lmfao.

Was reading this about how overpriced her products are, and wondering how much Williams Sonoma charges for crepe mix and preserves. In both cases about 30% more.

Having defended her on that front, I feel free to say that she does seem completely self absorbed and did as a working royal. It was never about the cause she was showing up to support; it was "look at me and how compassionate and saintly I am." I remember Michelle Obama being asked about her, and while she didn't say anything directly about the Duchess, she did say something like "I believe in bringing the spotlight to shine on others." And I thought, that's exactly right. If you're going to have the press following you around as a royal, use it to put the attention on those you're trying to help. Everything she says is about herself. Or the joys that she think she brings to others. "I hope this collection brings you as much joy as it does for those I hold close." "I'm doing this so that my children have the joy of seeing me doing what I love!" Oh what lucky children who get to observe her.

If she were 20, I'd say she's just immature. But no, she's an egotist.

How can you read “As ever, for me, is an extension of how I love.” With a straight face? I giggle just thinking about it. Here is another gem from the site:

These moments inspired me to dream up something far greater than I could create in my kitchen at home. I asked myself, “What would it take to scale my fruit spreads into something I could share more broadly? Could I adapt my recipe into something that could bring more people that feeling of joy? And what else could I add to this collection to spark a smile, to make your day a bit easier, to elevate your everyday?

I mean the NYtimes games section elevates my day so I’m not going to cancel because of it (and I doubt the PP did either), but if a Meghan created fruit spread, does it for you, I hope you thank her for sparking a smile. She has certainly made me laugh today.

The episode where she ordered Mindy to call her by her royal name made me physically cringe. She is so graceless and low class.
