Well someone is perceived right and someone is perceived wrong the courts will decide, but the games will be played in the field. The Lakers won a championship in the “bubble” the then Redskins won during a strike shortened season, if and big if Hayfield wins a championship it can be as asterisk if it needs to be but the banner would still remain the conversation would still remain but so would the title.
I see a lot of people have ordained Hayfield as favorites to win, but that’s why they play the game, so best way to silence them is SOMEONE beat them, then it all goes away.
We line up 11 on 11 and it’ll sort it self out after 48 min and the clock reads 0:00

You know what you don't understand fool? This is not professional sports. This is high school football where fairness and sportsmanship apply.

None of you Freefield parents care one whit about either.

I’m. It sure who ur calling a fool, ur this was a simple post, what ur making it now is something diff

And this goes back to the parents, players and administrators at one school having created the community climate they currently find themselves in. It is different and of their own making. This is what their cheating actions have created. Now they need to sit in it. Reap what you sow. Enjoy it. You caused all of this by cheating. Just own it. More respect would be given to them if they just simply owned what they have created.

Yeah just get out of the way and let em win the championship? No, the kids are there to compete.

Beyond that, there are quite a few teams that are capable of beating Hayfield throughout the state. They just weren’t in their district or on their regular season schedule. You will see soon.

Region C coaches met yesterday to discuss backing out of the playoffs together. Maybe Hayfield won’t get to play after all?

This would send a message, but Hayfield and apparently now FCPS admin would misinterpret it. Their view would be “everyone was scared, Hayfield #1.” It’s the prince that rises to power looking out over scorched earth kingdom.

Parents have been parents and some have/can be obnoxious, especially when cheering for their son or daughter. Most have congratulated all schools when they have had very successful championship programs/teams. That has been the community we live in.

NO ONE has ever done what Hayfield did this year for football in any sport, ever, at an FCPS public school. To encourage the transfer from one county to another of 24 student athletes to participate in one sport in the same school year is disgusting. To have moved the Director of Student Services to another school when that person began to see what was going on is evidence enough. There is SO much shady business that has gone on and been reported about, it’s no longer funny.

Whatever the temperature of the community is currently, it is the direct result of the actions of those 24 families/players and the coach, DSA and principal at Hayfield High School. They have earned all the criticism with this issue and should man up and look at themselves before defaming others with BS race comments meant to deflect from the real issue that they all where involved in this cheating scandal. They will never admit to it and will continue to deflect away from their lack of moral character.

There will be an * next this team for many years to come and they have earned it. Good luck in the playoffs to all.

Those kids were leaving Freedom regardless. They weren’t staying. They followed the rules of the VHSL and FCPS by moving into the Hayfield zone.

Can you explain the van taking kids back to Woodbridge?

Someone said it and ran with it, but again folks are going to believe what they wish

It has been verified by the Fairfax Times.

Those are the weak coaches that are scared and think they can’t win. Hayfield will easily have their way until they get to Madison or W&L. And that’s not going to be until the semifinals.

Madison and Hayfield are backing out, I know that much. If the were in the same side of the bracket as the stafford and Prince William teams, you wouldn’t see any of them back out either.

Let the kids compete!

BS. The Times didn’t say that. They may have said that was alleged.

Yes, they did. You Overton boosters are pathetic. You back a cheater. I feel for your children. They have terrible role models for parents.

God these Overton boosters are dumb as rocks.

That’s wild. So then Hayfield would be the default Region 6C champs. And then they would play the winner of region 6D: Washington-Lee, Westfield, Madison, or Langley.

Sorry about the mistake. Meant to say that Madison and W&L aren’t backing out. And I have no Hayfield supporter. Just a spectator and sports fanatic.

Only team I’m rooting for at this point is Stone Bridge where my nephew is playing.

And check Stone Bridge out. They were 1-7 before something clicked for them. The went into the playoffs at 3-7. First round they beat a team 35-0 that they lost to in the regular season.

Stone Bridge didn’t give up. They are competing. That’s what this is all about, competition and sportsmanship. If the other team is cheating, they are the ones who are losing in the long run because they aren’t learning about sportsmanship and how to compete with integrity.

Didn't one of them use an address that didn't exist? Weren't there other shennanigans with the addresses?

That was alleged and not proven.

No, it was. One player gave his street address as “Old Hayfield Road,” a street that doesn’t exist in the boundary. Again, sit this one out. Stop blindly defending a cheater. I know you love being on your knees for the guy, but this is getting pitiful.
