Wendy clearly stated it was a cultural/Nigerian thing and it was gonna be over the top. I don't think they much care if western culture find it tacky.

I thought Wendy is Nigerian? If sip and sees are culturally Southern then we didn’t really get to see her Nigerian culture. What we saw was a Southern American party with dashes of Nigerian elements.

The party for the baby was a modified version of an ikomo, a Nigerian baby naming ceremony. You don’t have to understand everything to respect it.

Who cares about why she had the party? It was a Bravo sponsored event. There was food, alcohol, and people dressed up at the local VWF. The baby was passed around for all to see.

Because that is part of her Nigerian culture. As she clearly stated. So you can drop your white Western expectations about what is appropriate, because they don't apply to her culture.

Ummm you don’t need to be hyper aggressive. This is an American show in America. The point of reality tv is to reflect much of the culture of the people that watch the show. It’s why shows like the Kardashians lasted so long because they were more American than Armenian.

I used no foul language or caps. I literally said nothing "aggressive." I simply stated facts. You can keep your "ummmmm." I'm perfectly comfortable when people have a different point of view. I'm sorry that you are not and that you feel so defensive.

Wendy is American. So she reflects American culture. Like many Anericans, her family heritage also includes cultures from different countries. The interweaving of these perspectives and traditions is what makes American culture.
