*Sigh* I love Potomac but the women on here are too “regular”

Bring more women who have a background like Gizelle/Robyn and money like Monique.
Or a humble to rich story like Ashley/Karen.

i thought it was to celebrate her first daughter.

To celebrate her first daughter makes sense but to have sip and sees for third children is tacky. People usually send an photographed announcement

No. Using “an” inappropriately is tacky.

I'd never even heard of a sip and see until Phaedra.
Wendy clearly stated it was a cultural/Nigerian thing and it was gonna be over the top. I don't think they much care if western culture find it tacky.

I think a sip and see is a southern thing.

I thought Wendy is Nigerian? If sip and sees are culturally Southern then we didn’t really get to see her Nigerian culture. What we saw was a Southern American party with dashes of Nigerian elements.

I believe she said it would be a mix of American and Nigerian. I don’t think she claimed otherwise.
She even had Caribbean food.

The party for the baby was a modified version of an ikomo, a Nigerian baby naming ceremony. You don’t have to understand everything to respect it.

In Igbo culture, the naming ceremony of a child is often referred to as “ikuputanwa or igu nwa’ aha” and this marks the formal presentation of the child to his people, which comprises of his kinsmen, family, friends, well-wishers and the entire community at large. This event is normally done to fulfill the social- religious obligations, that are believed to become activated when a child is born, as well as to thank God for the safe delivery of the child and to ask him to guide the child, as he embarks on a journey through the earth.

So, she basically gave a tour around the world party with elements from America, the Caribbean and Nigeria?

Who cares about why she had the party? It was a Bravo sponsored event. There was food, alcohol, and people dressed up at the local VWF. The baby was passed around for all to see.

Why does this bother you so much? The party was to celebrate a baby. I don’t understand why it matters what food they served it what culture they were representing.

Wendy is really growing on me. I hope she sticks around.

Eh..... I could leave her as well as Candiace. I would rather have Katie or Charisse back. I think Wendy helped to break the relationship even further between Candiace, Ashley, and Monique.

Katie is not well and should not be on television. It's not good for her and it's alarming to watch.

Well obviously, I would like Season 1 Katie. The healthy Katie I miss.

Because that is part of her Nigerian culture. As she clearly stated. So you can drop your white Western expectations about what is appropriate, because they don't apply to her culture.

Ummm you don’t need to be hyper aggressive. This is an American show in America. The point of reality tv is to reflect much of the culture of the people that watch the show. It’s why shows like the Kardashians lasted so long because they were more American than Armenian.

I used no foul language or caps. I literally said nothing "aggressive." I simply stated facts. You can keep your "ummmmm." I'm perfectly comfortable when people have a different point of view. I'm sorry that you are not and that you feel so defensive.

Wendy is American. So she reflects American culture. Like many Anericans, her family heritage also includes cultures from different countries. The interweaving of these perspectives and traditions is what makes American culture.

OMG are you pedantic.
