Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 2

Ford came off as more stable and rational than he has! And she is not a lawyer, is not connected in politics, didn't even understand why she would need a lawyer.

I would rather have her for supreme court justice!

He had all the advantages here and blew it.

That's right, he should be emotionless.

+1. We want impartial, stable, rational jurists.

And if that’s how he testified you’d say he wasn’t showing enough of emotion considering what he’s been accused of and so he’s guilty.

He didn’t say that - he said Holton was an independent private school and that he socialized with Catholic school girls. He said nothing about Holton being a rural Gaithersburg school.

He definitely said it was in gaithersburg, i dunno is there a transcript? It really stuck out with me. Because he brought up HC and Landon as 'in' and they are basically both walking distance from Holton.

CONTAINED EMOTION is where it's at, PP. Uncontrolled emotional displays are to be avoided at all costs. Dr Ford's obvious emotion was kept in check, which was the right thing to do. Judge Kavanaugh is crazy.

Agree. He is a garden variety political hack who has been infiltrating the judiciary. We are lucky to have uncovered him now.

Not me. I am a reserved sort of person and don't appreciate histrionics.

I don't care that he cried. I care that he acted like a pissed off asshole.

Which I already had a hint that he was - roommate went on record saying he was a belligerent drunk!

Now that has been confirmed.

How happy is he that they didn't have Facebook photos back in the 80s?

No, you just teach your sons to keep their hands to themselves and not treat girls like trophies.

doesn't matter if he ever toucher her. What matters is this he said she said BS and who is believable

Oh he got too drunk and doesn't remember? GUILTY! Burn him to the ground!

Give it up. He is a bad witness who reeks of guilt and weakness.

Yeah, the Holton thing was weird. It was basically like “we would t hang out with those Jews and Protestants. We only liked the good Catholic girls.” That’s how it came across to me (and I’m Catholic). And the thing about Renate was just pathetic.

HE is so happy! I don't think he would have made it to be GC at a tech company with his background!

I also agree. Just like aspiring astronauts are judged for their even-keeled temperament, so too should Supreme Court judges. Different jobs, same potential for long-reaching disaster if someone blows a gasket.

He was almost disparaging of Holton. He spoke as though he would never deign to be around a Holton girl. He also fudged on his statement about what Leland said. She said she did not recall--not that she wasn't there. He plays fast and loose with facts. It's really disturbing.

It must be super hard to reconcile that with being a Democrat.
