Shame. Shame. Shame.

I would hate to be on an FCV 2.0 team at Virginia Tech or William & Mary

Last year

FCV coaches scouted Spirit ID sessions and punished kids who were looking elsewhere.

FCV coaches scouted VDA iD sessions and punished kids who were looking elsewhere.

Everyone knew it was happening. It wasn't a secret. A coach even benched multiple players who went to other id sessions and told them to their face the reason why.

This year

FCV coaches are secretly giving existing kids roster offers. They know who they are going to cut but have not told them. They want these kids to miss tryouts and then convince them to play on 2nd team. In a business model, each kid is worth money.

None of this is secret. Some people just don't know about it.

*convince them to play on 2nd team AND make promises about being a DP no doubt.... just stick around and you'll get a shot!

A DP spot was the carrot for some last year. It won't be this year because everyone saw how pointless it was to be a DP. Half the 2nd team roster at FCV are DPs.

On top of it, some of the moms at FCV are the biggest spys for the coaches. In return, their kid will get regional NTC offers even when they are not the best kid on their team. Let alone in the region.

Too much drama and backroom politics. Not enough development.

What is DP? Also, I posted the information about NCAA commitments and I have zero affiliations with FCV but just researched their program. What do folks say about the clubs ability to place its players. I think only Mclean has a similar track record.

A DA developmental player. A kid not on DA roster put can practice and play 3 games a season with DA team....which never happens. Kid must be with DA club. Usually on 2nd team

FCV teams are better then Mclean teams. However, Clyde Watson is the man when it comes to college placement.

i guess I had the impression that FCV had told kids within the last week whether they were being asked back or not.......and I know from people at a couple clubs that interest from FCV to come to ID sessions picked up significantly..............

From my understanding some kids have been told they have a spot. The others better read between the lines

How is next year's roster being communicated at the Spirit VA and MD clubs? Anyone being told they are not invited back? Anyone promised a spot? Anyone on the outside given an offer for 04, or 02/03? Is VA more organized than MD?

No one at MD can tell you about VA and vice versa. They are completely separate groups under the same umbrella.

The top clubs for college placements are McLean and Bethesda.

McLean current commits - Virginia, Virginia Tech, UNC

Bethesda current commits - Princeton, Clemson, UNC, Virginia, Villanova, Notre Dame

Not on either club but those are tough to beat.

I may not like FCV, but facts are facts. Their kids get recruited. To say that Bethesda and Mclean are unmatched is fake news.
