The very same research study makes clear that "this study does not suggest that 35 percent school poverty is a tipping point, after which low-income students no longer benefit from socioeconomic integration. We cannot know from this study, for example, how students in 35 percent to 60 percent low-income schools perform compared with students in 60 percent to 100 percent low-income schools" - pg. 21

ALSO, the study says " if low-income students benefit most from positive peer models in economically integrated schools, research indicates that those effects might be greater at secondary rather than at primary grade levels." - pg. 35 - who has the outcomes for these students at JW and RM? Surely there are some statistics on that.

ALSO - since when did this boundary study become a referendum on school performance outcomes??? That is definitely NOT one of the FAA-RA criteria.

Do you know of any research that we can look at saying that walkable areas bused to a low-FARMS school don't do that well because they could have walked?

The entire RP2 isn't FARMS. Not even half are. Do the non-FARMS families not have a say? Do the FARMS families even have a say? Why are you talking for them all? What zone are you from? It is a school built in their neighborhood they can walk to. Stop acting like you know what is best for that area because some kids are FARMS and there is one study you continue to focus on. Hopefully they were all vocal and the BOE is listening. I hope they aren't listening to people like you. Talking FOR others. So annoying.

Looking at the Beall bus stops that start earlier, it looks like they go to childcare pick-up options in the downtown area and beyond.

Georgetown Hill Early day school is one stop
Montgomery College day care is another stop.

This is just one bus. I would think it takes awhile to pick kids up in centers. People must sign up for this service? I have bever seen it before.

Also there is one bus that goes up by Darnestowm Rd and Muddy Branch. Is that also a school? Hunting Lane and Potomac Corner Dr? That is not even in our cluster. Is this a special ed bus?

These are not normal neighborhood bus stops people are comparing them to.

Actually RP2 is more than 50% FARMS

Nobody said that the entire RP2 is FARMS. The only official position I heard from RP2 area is here:

The first stop is at 8:09 close to Halpine View Apartments.

There are many people in the CG community (including people in CG3) that oppose CG begin overcrowded. Unfortunately, when these people express their opinions in public, it is being taken personally and CG3 says that communities are not supporting them (such as King Farm). It really isn't a personal issue. People really just want what is best for the school and their kids. There are very valid concerns about leaving CG overcrowded, not only from the lack of build out potential in the future, but also from the errors in the data (both historically and in the BS so far). So far, the most vocal group has been CG3, however they are only a small part of the school. If people have concerns about CG remaining overcrowded, I hope that they are writing to the BOE to let them know this.

People are looking at how long the commute would take NOW. But, you have to look at future state.

What will the traffic be like around the ES#5 area when about 600 students attend that school? Think about all the buses, the parents dropping off their kids, etc... Traffic around that area (Wootton pkwy and Edmonoston) will be a lot heavier than it is now. So even if it only takes an additional 2 or 5minutes NOW, it will be A LOT more when there are 600 students going to that school.

Conversely, areas around Beall ES, for example, will see a decrease in traffic.

It will be busier than now for sure. But there are alternatives to Wooton/W. Edmonston route. Some neighborhoods assigned to RMES5 can come to school using Monroe St/Cabin John Pkwy/W. Edmonston or Wooton/Fleet/Ritchie Pkwy.

What are you talking about? They are zoned for TB

Here are the busses for Beall. The two that start at 8:15am which is the earliest, go to 1 or 2 daycare centers.

I thought they have ES kids at daycare centers, too. Don't they?

MCPS is awesome. According to this [http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/transportation/busroutes/02207bus.pdf], they bring to Beall students assigned to TB.

I'm one of those people who don't want CGES to remain at capacity. Just moving CI isn't enough. I wrote BOE last week, but I feel like I need to write them again. I don't feel like the CG3 argument of "community" and "sister neighborhood" and "history" is worthy of being considered. It's a load of hooey. And you're correct - if you expressed an opinion against Option A (i.e., against CG3), you'd look mean and like you somehow don't love the current community at CGES.
