South Korea is evacuating their workers and likely this plant will close. It will be a hit to the Georgia community where people lived and shopped and paid taxes.
Oh well. |
That is correct. Many a corporation has pretty much said they will, not be hiring Americans. So yeah, oh well. That's hundreds or thousands of fewer cars on the road or kids in the schools. Hundreds of fewer managers that want to skirt employment laws with a web of contractors and treat Americans like it is South Korea. Be sure and pay the tariffs. |
Sounds like no affordable electric cars for US. |
Private prison industry making boatloads of $$$. |
Of all of the industries we could support and try to grow, why do we want to do the prison industry? Thanks a lot Maga. That is not a desirable industry. |
They're still a luxury item. Truth be known small cars converting to electric aren't going to move the needle on emissions. That being said Hyundai is possibly my least favorite Korean car, so not much of a luxury after all. |

New high of Americans saying immigration is good for the US - 79% |
Yep, funny what eight months of chaos will do: |
These Trump voters are so anti-free market. |
Foreign investment willing to give it a try, don't see what we had to loose. Americans do love their gas-guzzling skull-crushers. |
I’ve passed this plant many times. It’s massive and is unlikely to close. Hyundai has just posted dozens of jobs this weekend looking for workers. Hyundai used ESTA incorrectly to get their Korean workers to the plant. It’s meant to attend meetings and train. There’s no way 475 people needed to be sent for years at a time for this. Hyundai also claims they had no clue about this because they use a temp agency to hire but they own the temp agency under another company name. |
Many massive plants shutter. They made a mistake coming here, they should cut and run. |
The only mistake they made was misusing ESTA intentionally. Locally it was a known fact that you couldn’t be hired for an upper level position there if you weren’t of Korean descent. If you wanted a job you had to go through their temp agency to get even the lowest level position because they didn’t want to really have American employees. Frankly I’m surprised they don’t have a massive discrimination lawsuit on their hands. |
Well, duh, that is the miscalculation. American's are some of the stupidest people on earth and there's no legal work around. On top of that Hyundai is ramping up just as the American economy is sundowning, no one will be buying what they produce, tariff free or otherwise. |
