I’ve passed this plant many times. It’s massive and is unlikely to close. Hyundai has just posted dozens of jobs this weekend looking for workers. Hyundai used ESTA incorrectly to get their Korean workers to the plant. It’s meant to attend meetings and train. There’s no way 475 people needed to be sent for years at a time for this. Hyundai also claims they had no clue about this because they use a temp agency to hire but they own the temp agency under another company name. [/quote]

The only mistake they made was misusing ESTA intentionally. Locally it was a known fact that you couldn’t be hired for an upper level position there if you weren’t of Korean descent. If you wanted a job you had to go through their temp agency to get even the lowest level position because they didn’t want to really have American employees. Frankly I’m surprised they don’t have a massive discrimination lawsuit on their hands. [/quote]
