He was the most successful radio show host in American history. If he sat on your side of the aisle, you would have adored him. Let’s be honest.

But he would never be allowed to sit on my side of the aisle. Because we don’t celebrate the death of people from AIDS over here.

+1 We also know how birth control pills work and don’t shame women for using them.

He didn’t shame her for using the pill. He shamed her for demanding others pay for it.

That’s CRAP and you know it. Go back and look at what he said about her for weeks on end. When she testified about her friend who had to be on it due to it helping her endometriosis symptoms. You’re a lying sack.

Typical GOP.

Lie, cheat, steal. That’s all they have.

Projection.

Yes, the GOP projects 24x7.

I listened to Rush through all of it. I know I’m correct about this. I’ve been on the pill for medical reasons. It cost me $15/month per pack and they were often just given to me free by the handful from the doc.

LOL. Love the disclaimer.

If you took them to prevent pregnancy, you'd just be another dirty slut, right?

I want to know how much of his nearly $1 billion fortune he gave away to charity in his will. When does that become public?

What’s amazing is that ESPN decided in 2003 that this guy deserved national television exposure instead of almost anyone else who could have provided commentary about the NFL every week. Remarkable.

Tells you quite a bit about their personal politics at that point, doesn’t it?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_Limbaugh%E2%80%93Sandra_Fluke_controversy
What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic], who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps. (interruption) The johns? We would be the johns? No! We're not the johns. (interruption) Yeah, that's right. Pimp's not the right word. Okay, so she's not a slut. She's "round heeled". I take it back.

Let's be clear -- while Limbaugh was harassing Fluke, he was using his own insurance to pay for Viagra and about 300-400 opiod pills a month.

Why does he have any leg to stand on?

(Excuse me, "did." Small mercies.)

The man bullied people and spewed hate EVERY SINGLE SHOW. These weren't just one-offs. The entire show was just attack after attack after attack with the most baseless claims made in argument. The same way comedies make people laugh and dramas make people cry. His show was intended to make people hate. It was just one big hate speech every day. And that is his legacy.

He made many homes much uglier and sadder places to live. I saw first hand how he twisted decent people into hateful mean caricatures of themselves. And he laughed all the way to bank. Hard to imagine being that evil.

Very well stated.

It was just an amygdala fest, meant to stoke up their adrenaline and cortisol. And it worked. Those dumb rats kept going back and hitting the feeder bar to get their high.

Thanks. Just curious. Is there a genre for hate speech shows the way there is for comedies or dramas or thrillers? I was trying to think about how to call it and couldn't think of a name.
