+2. So sick of boycotts and cancel culture I automatically do the opposite now. It’s absolutely disgusting what this country has become.

Did you feel the same when Trump told his followers to boycott Harley Davidson?

So much for your fickle support of "Made in America." The point of that boycott was to bring motorcycle manufacturing BACK TO THE US. Harley planned to move some of its production overseas. Once again, you people seem to have missed the memo that Trump advocated Made in America well before Biden jumped on the bandwagon. -DP

Way to miss the point.

The point is, you said boycotts are bad and automatically do the opposite. So logically you should have bought a Harley even if you don't ride a motorcycle.

+1 thank you! That was indeed the point.

BTW, if Trump really wanted to "bring back the jobs" why doesn't he start with his own company? No Trumpster will go near that question.

I don’t want some foreigner tell me how to live my life. Goya can go back to Spain.

If you knew anything about Goya products you would know they are the most expensive option on the shelves.

Are you saying that Hispanic immigrants cannot afford Goya products?

+1. What a bigoted, racist statement.

Goya is poor quality food. I have never and will never buy their cheap, crappy food.

If Latinos and other Goya customers boycott Goya, good for them. There are other, cheap alternatives.

There is now a "buycot" on Goya products from coast to coast. But the American public is doing the opposite and from coast to coast, New York to California, Goya products are flying off shelves as consumers who have not previously purchased Goya products are doing so now in support of the CEO and President Trump.

The problem in these situations is not the short-term, but the long-term. Frequently when consumers boycott products, you have long-time buyers who boycott and transition to other products which becomes their standard and boycotted companies lose repeat customers and purchases. They get replaced by people who are protesting the boycott. These are often short-term buyers who will buy once or twice (like the people who buy and donate to charities), but long-term, the replacement customers are not long-term customers. So, while the boycotted companies get a short-term boost, that boost typically only lasts a few months and they do okay for a quarter or two and then their year over year profits dip.

This is one of the reasons why Chick-Fil-A ended up changing their donation support for two large Christian anti-LGBTQ charities. They had an initial bump, but after 2 quarters, the boycott movement had more impact that the counter-movement.

Yes so racist. Buying a less expensive brand of canned beans is now racist because trumpublicans says so. Goya fully supports the white supremacist agenda of trump and republicans. Something you are proud to be apart of. Don’t you republicans apparatchiks have to to attack Fauci now or are you still negotiating the bounty you will paid for killing US Troops? You sound unhinged.

Hey, maybe you should read the first comment about affordability of the product. The PP was responding to that comment.

Jesus, you sound like a couple of idiots.

Dear bigoted poster, Goya CEO is not from Spain.

Go back to whatever cave your ancestors came from.

Of course of course.

And Hispanics buy them because they (we) are truly dumb.

Or perhaps the dumbest PP around is...

I am not quite sure why the CEO is sharing his personal politics while on company time. It seems to me like a professional no no. Now, however, if he was on a personal golf trip with fat Donny, that would be a different story. Politics and work never mix.

This is one side of the problem with Citizens United decisions. Yes, I know that this was not simply about a campaign contribution. They have given to the Trump campaign, and that wasn’t widely known until this past week.

When corporations start taking political stands, or making political donations, they’re going to piss off someone.

What??? Corporations have been doing so for decades. They just have their executives/senior manager make the contributions under a PAC.

My favorite part of the boycott is all the pasty faced, bulimic blondes posting on Facebook that they will no longer buy Goya products. As if a steak marinaded in mojo criollo ever passed their thin, pursed lips.

Their passion and guava fruit juices are pretty popular with the kids those...what do you call them ....oh right -pasty faced bulimic blondes? Goya was trying to appeal to a wider(ie white) market. They just failed. The only group still buying their products are cubans living in South Florida and it’s not like anyone is lining up to support them anymore. Goya wrapped its brand around one of the most toxic brand kills in the US- trump and the republicans. Just a matter of time now.
