And that is 100% your right to do so. Just like it's mine to organize a group to buy out the shelves at as many grocery stores as possible in our town, and donate to the local food drive. |
Alright, so basically you are going to tell your students that Goya beans are healthier because the CEO likes Trump. Or something like that. Just so they buy the beans that own the liberals. My God, that's dumber than a boycott. And unethical too. |
Given relatively equal products, in a capitalist society, we votes with our dollars. I will vote for a company that doesn't openly support this administration. |
Their products are more expensive than other brands. Not Latinx myself, but we purchase and eat a fair amount of Goya products. We will now avoid. |
|
Not latino, and not going to boycott
Apparently the ceo said nice things about the Obamas when he was at the White House during 44's term. I'm not rushing out to the store. I'll get Adobo when I'm almost done with my current bottle. All this hopping up and down is ridiculous. |
No. I never said that I will tell the participants in my classes that Goya beans are healthier. You made that up or are projecting your own anger here. What I'll say is that CANNED BEANS (or dried beans) are a healthy, tasty, inexpensive and overall good thing to eat. We're going to work with some today in our class and guess what -- they'll happen to be Goya. When I give out printed recipes in English and Spanish, I will reference Goya brands. When I give samples for people to take home -- which I often purchase with my own money -- they will be Goya. So, it's a little promotion of a product and brand I really like. There is nothing unethical about that. People do it all the time. |
I like this! Next I am going to organize a boycott of Trump-supporting real estate agents so Trumpsters will band together to buy their houses and donate them to the needy. Homelessness crisis solved! |
Yes, but in your case you promoting Goya for political reasons without telling them the reason. That's unethical. And yeah, I know people do it all the time. And I'm not angry and not projecting. I don't really care what you do. |
I'm sure someone would love to respond to this but it's not even funny because it makes no sense.... |
DP. No, you said "only now" you'll be endorsong Goya. Not because you lile them. Because they like Trump. That's unethical. |
Please. Beans are beans. No one can tell the difference in the brands by the way they taste. |
Do what you want. People will buy the less expensive products that aren’t controversial. |
If beans are beans, then what's behind the big push for Goya? I prefer the Goya beans myself, but not so much that I will sacrifice my values to continue to purchase them. |
Well tell that to the chef who likes Goya. |
You have a mighty warped view of Trump voters. How completely surprising. |
