Carter got it right. We spend trillions on a military for no reason. Any of the big countries with big military(China, Russia, India) can defend us easily and they all have nukes in case we are the aggressor. We don't need a huge military boondoggle to fight the likes of Iraq,Syria etc. And even then we lose these wars, not because we don't have a great military, but because wars are eventually ended with diplomacy. But the fraud party of trickle down economics lead by a liar-in-chief are only interested in tax cuts for the rich and unquestioned military expense. They don't care about our poor infrastructure, our "poorly educated"(whom the conman loves because they fall for his con without even trying), or healthcare. China is the leader in highspeed rail, solar and wind power, infrastructure, even healthcare. No surprise there because they focus on growth NOT military expansion and tax cuts for the rich. |
China is a polluter and so is USA. We are the largest per capita polluter even today. And we have been the largest absolute polluter for decades before china overtook us recently. We can't absolve ourselves from the irresponsible carbon emissions. China is still doing a lot more than us when it comes to climate change. The conman pulled us from the Paris agreement. THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT WITHDREW. Shame on Americans who support Trump. |

Economists are predicting this trade war could be long and painful since both Trump and China are digging in to their positions. Let's hope Trump caves the way he did with the government shutdown due to wall funding.

What are you smokin, my friend? |
China can't wait to see US start a war with Iran or somewhere else. Then China will have another 10-year golden opportunity to develop itself. |
|
Okay. So that’s terrifying. |
Psst, China is already developing itself - and buying up American real estate and businesses. |

“In the first two volleys of U.S. tariffs on China, which covered $50 billion worth of imports, only $1 billion were products where China had a dominant market position, according to a calculation by Deutsche Bank AG. In the latest round, which took effect on Sept. 24, American consumers are more vulnerable to price increases: Almost half of the $200 billion worth of products subject to the 10 percent duties come mainly from China. Things will get even worse for consumers if Trump makes good on his threat to place tariffs on the rest of Chinese imports, because for about 80 percent of the products, China is the majority supplier.”

Well yeah, any 18 year old student who has taken an Intro economics class could have told you that won't end well for the US. |
And yet, the GOP, the so-called party of free markets and fiscal conservatism, stands by with hands in their pockets whistling in an aw-shucks manner. |
The President and ~35% of the country don’t understand, though? |

Less Chinese production of goods = less American consumption = less pollution Sounds good to me! |
