Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Also consider 3d lacrosse and MC Elite, each has teams thru HS. Might be something that you like, as it provides a smoother transition between the 8th and 9th grade.

They live in Fairfax. Not worth driving to Montgomery County for club lax for MS and HS years when there are fine choices so much closer, especially considering how terrible traffic is.

The only fine choice is stars and capital.

Give it a rest. The sun has set. Its a new day for girls lacrosse in the DMV. The best clubs across the country (Yellowjackets, Skywalkers, Monsters, etc...) have teams for grade school thru high school and this area is now following that model.

Combine all the DMV clubs and they are 50% of what Capital does for commits. Sorry your daughter wasn't selected.

The number of college commits is very impressive but what portion of those came from 1 single high school in Alexandria? And who was talking to the college coaches, a capital representative or the kid's high school coach?

My daughter plays for Crash-doesn't want or need the pressure at Capital but heard parents talking about the above a couple of years ago. If you go to the CLC website and count the number of commits by year, a huge percentage come from 1 school and if you add the 2nd most producing school, together they account for way more than half.

Yikes! Is this an official Capital Lacrosse Club response? Hope college coaches aren't doing a social media scrub on your club

College coaches only care about the player. They couldn't care less about the people running the club. The Yellow Jackets have more recruiting success than anyone, and their owner is despised by many.

From Fairfax, Cardinal, Pride and VA Metro are your closest/best options for club girls lacrosse from middle school through HS (probably in that order in terms of quality of competitiveness at the HS level right now). My DD plays for Pride at the middle school age groups and loves it.

Wow way to stir her in the wrong direction. Nothing wrong with Priide , good coaching, good players, good management. The only downside to Pride is that they don’t always sign up for The hardest brackets in a tournament, certainly not the players fault they play who’s in front of them.

Cardinal and Metro really! One of those two clubs won’t even be around in three years.

Pride is changing - moving toward being more competitive, adding a high school program and the current middle school teams are very good. Middle schools girls will be playing in the NGLL Spring League for first time. Look for them in higher brackets at better tournaments soon. New high school team had a decent first season. Program is definitely on the rise.

Still light years behind Stars and Capital in terms of teams fielded, tournaments attended and divisions entered. Not even close.

Not sure I would define a program as being light years ahead when Pride middle school teams have beaten Stars. Stars did play in stronger tournament brackets this Fall. This said, I'm not sure which is better, Stars losing badly and not being competitive in those games or Pride beating inferior teams by lopsided scores. M&D Black is much stronger than both programs.

Debating which MS girl's team is best is silly. None of the advice in the first post is the "wrong" direction. My older daughter played Cardinal years ago and they were very competitive with Capital and even beat them once. She was fortunate enough to play lacrosse in college for a good Division One program. The way to get recruited in this sport is simple. Get good grades! Most coaches look for this first. Second, email coaches and let them know your tournament schedule. Third, attend camps or prospect days. All of these teams play the big four tournaments and get exposure. There are many clubs in the area. Most important be sure they have fun and like the members of the team. The memories last long after anyone remembers which team won which game.
