Current 8th graders at NCS, applying out for 9th?

Let's see how it goes next school year. Many new parents have been reading this board and will keep a close watch on this front (social dynamics, and others). Wonder why there have not been as many such posts about other big 3/5 schools.

Is this related to today's message about social media behavior?

Maybe they didn't have 28 8th graders applying out.

Which was?

Just as is happening in every school across the country, there is both a learning curve and difficulty navigating how schools should/can deal with behavior that doesn't happen AT school. The insinuation that the school somehow attracts and or allows bullying behavior is an ignorant thing to say. These kids came from other schools and go to other schools. They're at ALL the area schools. There just seems to be a thing in this area where some people find comfort in finding and bashing a common enemy- the Cathedral schools. Sounds a little like bullying to me ... smh

Are you suggesting that outsiders somehow know what was going on with the girls' social media and how many applied out and other details like that? Sounds like the 'bashers' are from the school.

Both but much more of first.

Does anyone know what the punishment ended up being for all the cyberbullying that occurred just as school was getting out for the summer?

I'm sure there were many who decided to leave. However, unless you're an administrator in the school, I'd be very leery of gossip among parents regarding this. Some parents may claim they have chosen to remove their children from the school to hide the fact they were actually asked to leave. Saving face is important for these types of people.

Wouldn't you want to save face if your child was asked to leave? That there is not so unusual.

You are incorrect. The number 15 is exactly right. Fifteen girls left the NCS class of 2021, at the end the 2016-2017 school year and their last year in the MS (8th), to move to other day and boarding schools including Bullis, Visi, Sidwell, St George's, Deerfield, and several others.
