Bingo.
And, someone asked why he has press conferences if he hates the press.
This is not rocket science, people.

It won't look so brilliant after what Biden and Obama do to Trump and his idiocy at tonight's DNC. Can't wait.

What you guys don't understand is that you cannot redeem a candidate - Clinton - who is widely distrusted by the American people. You can put all the lipstick on her you want and it will not hide her warts. She has lost the trust of many Americans.

The only issue is whether the electorate views Trump to be a greater risk than her. If they don't he will win the election. Biden and Obama and Bill Clinton yesterday cannot make her more trustworthy to the American people. They are biased ....... and have an agenda which is get a Democrat elected.

If Obama and Biden really were concerned with getting an honorable person into the presidency they would not have advocated for her. We really need to stop with the sanctimonious b-s. We have two horrible candidates and we are left to choose between them. I have Republican friends who are totally turned off Trump but will vote for him because they think Hillary is even worse.

Obama and Biden believe she is trustworthy, therefore they backed her. If the public does not agree, that does not make Obama and Biden dishonorable.

This is not the first election where we had two bad choices. I remember a lot of people being unhappy with the choices in 1988 and 1992. That unhappiness drove Perot's candidacy.

If Obama and Biden believe she is trustworthy they are ignoring the opinion of 70% of the electorate who think she is not. IMO, and I have witnessed many, many, elections over the decades, this is the worst choice of candidates we have ever had. I have consistently voted for Democrats over the decades but I will not vote for Clinton under any circumstances. I can't vote for Trump either. I know others who feel the same way and will not vote for her. Some say they will vote for Trump and others say they will vote for the Stein.

If the Supreme Court were that important to Democrats we should have nominated someone who did not come with the baggage that Clinton does.

Yes, because the party elites will be the ones to suffer because of SCOTUS. Not the poor, women and minorities. Get off your high horse

Trump did not tell the Russians they should hack into anything. You cannot hack into a non-existent server. This is rather basic. He said that if the Russians had the deleted emails they should release them - and in a tweet after the press conference he said they should release it to the FBI.

The assumption is that they hacked her server and he is saying that if they have it he hopes they would be released. What is wrong with the release of emails that one of these parties have gained possession?

According to Republicans, all of the emails will include Hillary personally saying "stand down in Benghazi, I want all the bloodshed!" and other dire secrets you're sure are there, so it's weird you'd want them out there. Hacked. By invitation of a presidential candidate. For the "law and order" party.

I am a Sanders supporter, FYI ......... Clinton deleted emails that she claimed were personal. If they are still available anywhere - and the odds are they are available by someone who hacked her server - what is wrong with them being released? I am sure most people will not give a damn about her yoga classes, etc.

Aside from such an act being a federal crime?

Assange released the DNC emails. It may be a crime but cyberwarfare is a fact of life.

And Assange is a criminal hiding from extradition. Do you find him admirable? I don't.

I find transparency admirable. As a Sanders supporter I am glad that he released the information that showed the bias within the DNC and it resulted in DWS being kicked out.

I am all for transparency when it comes to our political process. I don't care whether it is Democrats, Republicans or anyone else in public political office. The only exception is when national security may be impacted.

DNC is a private organization, so they don't owe American taxpayers any transparency

They owe it to Democrats - and as a Bernie supporter - I am glad that their nefarious activities became known because of Assange.

Why would they owe it to an independent who admitted to using them and went right back to being an independent? They don't owe him to like him. Which is what those emails showed-that they didn't like him. Boohoo

He ran as a Democrat ........ and I am sure DWS said boohoo when she was booed out of Philly.

It think she'll survive. No, he ran as a democrat to use the party's resources without giving anything back. I'm not sure why you expected them to love him

So we shouldn't care about what a presidential candidate says or does? WTF is wrong with you?

At least he is having press conferences.

Hillary hasn’t had one in 235 days, and counting.

Not since the 1st Democratic debate, if memory serves.

Pretty pathetic.

It's irrelevant. She isn't good at press conferences, so why should she hurt her campaign by doing them? It's a political calculation. Thomas Jefferson was so bad at public speaking he gave the State of the Union in writing. Maybe she should promise to do a press conference when Trump releases his tax returns.

I guess that would be rationale for not having any press conferences if she is president ...... because he is not good at them. If you run for public office you need to be willing to go through the process of being vetted and questioned. Press conferences are part of that process whether one is good at them or not.

So I take it you are adamant that Trump release his tax returns? That's part of the vetting process too.

I believe Trump should release his returns. But ultimately - say he refuses to do so using whatever excuse whether legitimate or not - on election day we can decide if his failure to do so is of sufficient importance that we deny him our vote.

To be honest, I think he is pulling an “Obama” on this one.
Remember how Obama would not release his birth certificate? The press and the right made a huge deal about it. Trump even got in on the action.
I believe Obama withheld it to make the right seem petty because after it was released, there was nothing to be seen.

I think Trump is doing the same thing. Making a huge deal over something that will turn out to be a nothing burger.

Not the same at all. Unlike tax returns, no other candidate had to release their birth certificate. Even when he did release it, he was criticized because it was not the "long form," even though Hawaii does not release the long form to anyone, including the person himself. State of Hawaii made a special exception to release the long form.

And Trump has no intention of releasing the tax forms. I promise you he will never release them. He doesn't want to go to jail.

It is not a requirement to release tax returns as a candidate for the presidency.

No, merely precedent. What other precedents will Trump not respect? Is he going to continue to run his Trump businesses while in the Oval Office, including the new Trump Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue? The precedent is that presidents don't, but he isn't bound by precedent, obviously.

Trump's campaign manager confirmed today that they won't release his tax returns. It is very likely that the returns would document Trump's reliance on Russian financiers.

No, I think his vulnerability is that he probably paid little or no taxes. His further vulnerability may be that he did not donate very much to charity.

The former - if he made tens of millions of dollars - and managed to legally shelter the income will not look good. He has already said that he pays as little in taxes as he can using the tax laws.

He could lie and weasel his way out of all of that. Only thing he would really fear is prosecution. So I think he knows he committed tax fraud, or at least is afraid he might have.

You are correct. But the optics of not holding press conferences does not play in her favor.
Should he release his tax returns? Sure. I bet he will eventually, despite what they are saying now. As I have said before, he is pulling an “Obama.”
But, as to the poster upthread who said “Unlike tax returns, no other candidate had to release their [sic] birth certificate......”.....I would say.... No candidate HAS to release his/her tax returns. It is not a requirement.

Can't Hillary go on tv and implore the Russians to hack into servers and release Trumps tax returns, for the love of GOD, WHY wont she just ask them to do this?

No other candidate had on his book cover that he was born in Kenya...........

I agree it was stupid--but, let's not forget where this issue really began.
