Schools and Education General Discussion
| While not all graduates of Ivy League colleges are smart, all sock puppets are boring. |

She received her academic scholarship when she demonstrated her passion for Asian American studies with emphasis on "traditional Asian shame culture". |
She conducted scientific studies on her academic interest by talking to her Asian husband including various in-laws from the husband's family side which were published in peer reviewed journals such as "International Development" and "Shaming Asian Cultures". |

None of the Ivies were co-ed until 1977:

Weii, I guess the lady is between a rock and a hard place.

And while some argue about the deficiencies in how Asian Americans approach the education of their children compared to others, the latest SAT scores show a further overall deterioration in scores ............... BUT when you compare the combined SAT scores of Asian-American kids with other races (including whites) from 2006 to 2015 the scores of every racial/ethnic group has gone down with the exception of Asian-Americans whose score has gone up significantly.
Combined SAT Score in 2015, and Changes Since 2006, by Race/Ethnicity Group American Indian 1423 -27 Asian-American 1654 +54 Black 1277 -14 Mexican-American 1343 -28 Puerto Rican 1347 -16 Other Hispanic 1345 -26 White 1576 -6 But, go right ahead believing Asian-American kids are this very unhappy group who are forced by their parents to be automatons who don't think for themselves, lack leadership skills and have no interest in anything other than academics! https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2015/09/03/sat-scores-drop-and-racial-gaps-remain-large |
That's factually incorrect. For example, Yale started admitting women in the fall of 1969. Brown's women's college (Pembroke) merged with Brown in 1971. You shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet. |
Shorter PP: It's not true that Asian-American kids are interested in nothing but academics! Just look at their increasing SAT scores! Um. |
Another version: Asian Americans are interested in academics and other things as well. Meantime, Asians continue to excel and perform better than any other groups despite all the naysayers! |
No, that's not what that post said. If you're trying to make the point that Asian-Americans are interested in non-academic things, then consider providing some examples of Asian-Americans who do non-academic things. There are plenty of Asian-Americans who do non-academic things, so that really shouldn't be a difficult task. |
Music (classical), sport (golf, swimming, tennis etc.), martial arts, poker, video gaming (producing, playing etc.), cooking, fashion design, pop music ...... |

The "different poster" (not the Asian cultures person) posted about being offered an almost full tuition scholarship in the late 70s, not early to mid decade. Women most definitely attended Ivies in the late 70s. And someone who was offered a scholarship as a high school senior in the late seventies would have graduated in the 80s. |
Whites just can't stand Asians being smarter despite racism so it's always the same old attacks. I guess they have to add the disgraced Ivy lady's "Asian shame culture" attack to the arsenal. |
