When we complained the NCS middle school head said that the girls who attend the dances knew what to expect. We complained to St Albans and they also refused to do anything. We, as lawyers, suggested that the school wasn't helping the boys by treating these criminal acts as though they were jokes. But they refused to do anything. I don't think these are Christian schools as most people would understand the term. It's a perverted atmosphere.

WTF!!??!

I'm sorry but this made me laugh. I don't believe it for one minute. Next time come up with a more plausible story.

This is called "grinding" and unfortunately it is almost the norm at most schools.

Nonconsenting grinding is what is described that's why it is criminal. If parties agree its merely in poor taste. Which at a supposedly Christian school you would expect the chaperone to stop it and some consequences given.

I can assure you, the Saints Albans administration could care less what people are posting on this silly anonymous website.

In today's world, this could happen at any school, public or private. Boys have always verbally thrown epithets at women. whether it's based off their out fit or sexual appearance - it happens. And quite frankly, some of these girls based on how short their prom dresses pr homecoming dresses are, are clearly looking for attention.

Again based on the 14 pages on this thread I still don't have a picture what happened. If a girl was forced to do something physically against here will, then yes their should be an investigation.

Let's not blame the schools here but what about parenting. Doesn't every single parent in this day n age speak to their son and daughter on the dangerous of sex, alcohol and drugs and respecting your peers. It seems to be so many people on this website feel they are so entitled, they are always looking for blame elsewhere.

High school kids will always be immature - hopefully they learn and grow from their own actions ans reckless mistakes. Private Schools can't police what happens at parties on the weekends but parents can!

You are the problem and now your son is thanks to your influence.

Yes here we have the father saying boys have always insulted girls and some of the slutty looking ones deserve it.
This is the attitude that has to go.

Private schools can and do set a tone and educate their students. Consenting sexual activity is one thing, sexually degrading and misogynist words and activity are another. Would you want your son going to a school where boys posted such things about girls and no one said anything to them about it? No one decided to have a larger discussion in the school?

I'm sickened by the idea that the girls somehow asked for it.

I'm a former NCS parent and this post reflects exactly what the problem is. The Cathedral schools send the message that the girls have to control themselves because the boys can't.

Schools educate. Thats why you send your children there. Parents love to crow about the morals education at all these schools, the community service requirements, all the wonderfully socially conscious activities. But when it comes to how boys think of and behave towards girls, suddenly there's no role for the school.

If your head of school are as clueless about this subject as you are it is no wonder this is an issue.

I also find it interestingly that NCS think their solution is to wash their hands of the situation and just expect STA boys to act like monks.

Who is expecting STA boys to act like monks? What people seem to be expecting is that the STA boys treat girls with respect and don't do sexual things unless the girls consent. Is that what you consider "acting like monks"?

Girls text topless pictures, post sexually suggestive pictures on Instagram, get wasted and grind on the boys at parties and people are surprised that the boys make advances at the girls?

The bays and girls need to learn how to more respectful of each other.

I am not slut shaming the girls, they make mistakes, but it is neither more nor less criminal than what the boys do.

I haven't seen any claim the NCS girls were acting inappropriately here. Not sure exactly what the STA boys were doing (locked in a closet?!, touching with penis at 7th grade dance?!), but whatever it was, it was serious enough, and enough beyond the norm for teens, that several. NCS girls went to the trouble to share their experiences on some semi-anonymous google doc. Whatever it was, that suggests to me it's serious enough to discuss further.

When I was growing up boys did not throw insulting epithets at girls . That was something blue collar construction workers did. Now it's being excused at a private school. Things are getting worse, not better.

I am not paying 30 thou plus so my daughter can be insulted at a dance because a boys father taught him its ok if he thinks the girl is asking for it. The boys who do that should be banned from the campus.

I agree. So should the mean girls who are rude to boys.

We have heard over and over again that NCS girls are told by the head of school that they should be more lady like and they get angry. They think they should be able to act any way they want.

So, nice try!!

It would be interesting to do a survey of StAlbans parents and students to see how many of them think its ok to insult girls. Possible outcome: the boys are being influenced by a few bad ones and the parents have no idea that their son's gang behavior at school is very different from what they are taught at home. Or perhaps many of the fathers are like this poster. But if that is the prevailing belief at the school it isn't Christian. I believe Jesus was famously friends with a prostitute. Christian or not I don't want my daughter around this destructive bullying attitude.

Well, it could happen at any school. But it actually is happening at St. Albans. Therefore, the question is, what will the administration of St. Albans do about it?

When it happens at another school, you can ask what the administration of that school will do about it.

Also, bonus points for using the "boys will be boys" argument AND the "the girls are sluts" argument, in consecutive sentences.

Here is the raw specimen for examination. This poster justifies social control by way of public slut shaming because the girls are unladylike and/ or angry.
