The Gansler stories are another black eye for Sidwell. Having the judgment of one of your most prominent alum called into question by every major news organization in the country is never good, but in the wake of the Newmyer and Pete Peterson cases, it seems time for some serious silent Quaker reflection.

Trust me there has been plenty of reflection, not all silent. Sidwell will be just fine.

Agree. This is a hugely successful family with many branches and many individuals who have devoted much time and money to the school. As anyone who knows the family knows there is also a new generation coming through. Far beyond one person.

I am curious where these people come from who like to post "black eye" stories about various schools like Sidwell, Landon, Bullis, STA etc. Do you really think that every single member of your own institution is beyond reproach?

Bullis is the only school in your list that hasn't been the target of "black eye" threads on DCUM - the "black eye" thread is a badge of honor. They bash because they care.

Thats because Bullis is the public school you pay for. Non competitve admissions. Show up and your kid is in.

Not prestigious.
