My DC's WISC is not high, but Woodcock-Johnson is very good. Any hope?

Anybody with experience of Stanford B (?). Will it be very different from WISC?

Don't turn the WISC in, just submit the WJ.

DH's Johnson is quite impressive. Will that help DC with appeal?

Perhaps. Does he know how to use it?

My daughter has taken both the WISC and Stanford Binet and they are similar. She did much better on the Stanford Binet, however the tester typically sees students score about 5 points lower on it than the WISC. If your child has already taken the WISC, then take the Stanford Binet.

Thanks. I am thinking about doing this. But the psychologist's letter will discuss both, right? Should I contact the psychologist to ask for separate document?

For the WJ, the screening file from the county does not list this test. How do we approach this?
Does all Fairfax county kids score very high on this test?

Ask the psychologist what you should do. My DC had high WISC and average Woodcock Johnson and Dr. Dahlgren wrote up the report without mention of the WJ.

I agree, ask psychologist. WJ without WISC may seem suspicious?

Thanks! My DC took WISC but only got 130 for VCI and 120 for PRI (?). The detailed breakdowns are not available yet. I am thinking of S.B. but not sure if DC can do better on it.

That is my worry. They usually are administered together. BTW, somebody asked about the sub-scores of my DC's WISC, they are 130, 120, 106? and 105?.

I think those scores are good! Especially VCI of 130. The committee will look less at the last two subscores since they have less to do with giftedness.

DC took WISC in Jan when I did parent referral for her as she didnt have Cogat 3 (long story). She is in 3rd grade. She didnt get in because of her GBRS of 9, despite her WISC being 130. She took the Stanford Binet now and she says its similar. WJ reading as well. It seemed shorter to me too.
