And I'm guessing they all have rap sheets a mile long, plus tons of camera tickets from their cars. It's not like these are productive members of society and only have this one illegal hobby. Not sure why we want to protect these people from prosecution.

I live in a neighborhood where they wrecklessly drive up and down streets, wrong ways down the street and through a field where people play and hangout all summer long. I recognize the same kids riding every time. It’s dangerous and ridiculous. And lots of kids of all races use these spaces.

Is anyone taking pictures of them? Or video?

PP and I am not sure. I’m usually out walking with my kids and dog or playing in the field. I’m usually more preoccupied with getting my kids as far away from the ATVs as possible. I also don’t know if filming from as far as we stay away would actually help identify them.

Why can’t police hit them with a dye pack similar to the dye used by banks in a robbery? Blast some indelible ink all over the whole group of them and then let them walk around with dye splotches all over themselves for a well and them just scoop them up a day later when they go to the store covered in dye?

Because that would not be respecting their culture

Cameras, have police identify and trace the route of anyone on atvs, then seize and arrest.

Are you suggesting that we unleash illegal chemical warfare on these US citizens? I can't imagine someone wants to commit actual war crimes.

War crimes? Like at clothing stores and banks?

There's no doubt it's dangerous for the police to engage with the ATV gangs in the moment. Many of these riders are armed. And they will all choose a high risk, high speed pursuit rather than have a little chitty chat with a police officer. And remember, DC cops get sentenced to prison if they engage in pursuit with even a known drug dealer on a scooter. The DC Courts punish police severely for engaging with a crime in process.

I think the only realistic solution is drones. They can follow these gang members to their homes and then you can have a prepared police response that doesn't get the cops sent to prison. But flying drones in the DC area is not something the federal government wants.

This could be a chance for Trump to actually do something good for Washington.

The equity police, including their sheriff Janeese Lewis George, would go bananas if we cracked down on ATVs.

She said she is hoping to introduce a 'designated day' for riders, where participants would have access to select spaces instead of crowded streets in DC, despite locals saying groups of illegal dirt bike and ATV riders are becoming a frequent issue.

Is she also for a designated day and space when armed robbery is ok?

Alford said when her son was mown down in the street, he was also just getting over a separate incident where a group of teenagers held him at gunpoint and stole his scooter days before.

It would disproportionately impact our vulnerable neighbors who can least afford not to mow down children riding bikes!!
