Yeah kids are safer at school. Given the forecast yesterday that the severe storm will be around 2-6pm lets just keep the kids at “safer” school building till 6pm or better maybe let them overnight at school. Parents needs break too… |

| Yikes. Pick up at our school is 12:20 and we just started getting a very heavy downpour! |
What a crisis!! |
| I’m an LCPS teacher who just spent 40 minutes in a tornado formation in the hall and now the SOL test has been interrupted and can’t resume. Hateeeeeee this |
Meanwhile, in the real world, OPM has told federal workers to leave by 2 p.m. today. Almost every district in the DMV and Baltimore area has an early release. There is also an active tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warning for the area. But yes, FCPS having an early release today is clearly about giving teachers some extra time off.

And also WE STILL ARENT dismissing early but they’ve emailed us if storms happen at dismissal we will hold them late!! |
The day should have been cancelled. |

So far, so good. It has stayed dry and calm up to this point. |
Yeah, I can’t believe they’ve decided to keep students in a safe location. How irresponsible. |
None of the federal employees whose kids are at LCPS are rushing to save them from the dangers of a full day at school. |
How many student casualties did you suffer? How much damage did the building take? Are the emergency rooms overrun!????? |
How will you ever survive?! Thank God you picked up the babies!!!! |
| Severe threat is now likely over until the cold front comes through later this evening. There were some storms (and tornado warnings) in Loudoun but nothing meaningful in Fairfax . . . mostly just tropical downpours. Hard to see any more significant storms popping up this afternoon without significant sun to destabilize the atmosphere. |
