You can't just hand over a child to someone because they asked for them. If you were taken to jail for whatever reason, should the police give your kid to a school board member?
what? A child is not going to prison with their parents if they committed a crime.. did the father have an opportunity to place a child with another adult? Actions/policies need to be protective of the child..

No he did not. Just like if any US local law enforcement arrests a parent, that child can't just go home with anyone who asks for them. There are procedures, none of which include a school board member.

Yes the father has that opportunity, presuming he was apprehended. Generally parents choose to stay with their children, and take them with them during deportation.,

WATCH: ICE EAD Marcos Charles exposes the activists' lies and media smears surrounding the case of the 5-year-old boy.

ICE encountered the boy's father, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador, who fled from our officers and left his young son behind in the freezing cold, ABANDONING him. The boy's family even refused to take him into their house. Our officers ensured the boy's safety regardless.

What the media won't tell you is that after ICE detained the father, our officers spent time with the young boy — even taking him through a drive-through for some food — before reuniting him with his father.

The smears against our officers and this agency are relentless and continue to put our personnel at greater risk of attack. It must end.

I stopped listening at, "We did everything we could to reunite him with his family. Unfortunately when we knocked on the door, the people inside refused to take him in."

They used the child as bait.

ICE LIES. Anyone with two brain cells see this BS game being played.

The dad entered legally, filed for asylum at the border, has NO criminal record and was taking his kid to school when he was apprehended. He never fled. They left his car running. ICE Officer's tried to lure the mother outside using the son, and her husband begged her to stay inside. They thought they would be able to leave their son with another adult in the home (they were there to give approval) and ICE refused.

“Imagine the trauma of a child being picked up by masked and armed agents, seeing their parents in handcuffs and being used to attempt to lure their mother out of the house and into danger. What has become of our country?”

No?

Didn't think so.
They were there to arrest the father, who fled. Now the kid is coming home from school with no one there.

The only report that he fled is coming from DHS. No one believes a word they say anymore.

I guess we should believe the media stories that people who lived in the house who were outside asked to take the kid, ICE refused, And ICe used the kid as bait to bring out the people who lived in the house. And ICE did not detain the people outside who lived in the house.

has obtained a DHS photo of ADRIAN ALEXANDER CONEJO ARIAS, the father of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos. A senior DHS official tells FOX they have no record of the family entering the U.S. via the Biden era CBP One cell phone app as the family attorney claimed. FOX is told CONEJO ARIAS is an Ecuadorean national who is in the U.S. illegally, and DHS offered him a process known as VR (voluntary return) to leave the U.S. voluntarily with no immigration consequence, but he declined.

DHS says CONEJO ARIAS fled from ICE agents who were trying to arrest him in Minnesota, leaving his 5-year-old son Liam behind with ICE agents in a situation now seen in viral photos. This has sparked claims from Democrats that Liam was “kidnapped” and “targeted” by ICE to be “used as bait”.

DHS and the White House have no credibility and we now expect them to lie like this on the regular. They even pay people on this site no doubt to try to do damage control, but the court of public opinion isn't on their side and dropping fast.

So if someone has a kid, they get to stay? Here the father left his kid to avoid being caught by ICE. What should ICE have done?

I can not believe you are asking this. Go after someone else for that day?! Im sorry.. a child does not belong in an ICE prison. End of discussion.

His mom could have come out to take him, but she didn't want to.

No one wants to talk to these thugs

I wouldn’t just leave my child out there alone.

ICE has no way of vetting a stranger to know that she is an appropriate person to take custody of the child. As much as this is a horrible thing for Liam to endure, having a child is not a get out of jail free card, and at the end of the day, the child stayed with his father. Who knows where the mom was.

Right, because ICE can’t even vet whether US citizens are US citizens based on passport documentation. ICE determined the best course of action was to detain a 5 year old child and send him to Texas. There was no other humane solution to be found.

Literally nothing this administration says is credible. I'll take the word of the witnesses and bystanders who maintain that ICE detained this child unnecessarily and out of malice, thanks. There are consequences to telling an unending stream of lies and bs.

Self deportation is of course far more humane than playing chicken with ICE.
