America thanks you. |
Trumps bungled handling of the pandemic. Saying nonsense at the podium practically every day. Eroded allie’s trust in the US. NATO? He got laughed at by the UN general assembly. Passing tax cuts for the wealthy, running up the debt. Disparaging groups like Hispanics and Asians, Muslims. And how about just being mean and nasty and thriving on divisiveness, instead of trying to unite the country like a president should do!! Could go on and on. |
Fun fact. The other one is senile and a criminal. |
This. |
PP here. Do not gaslight. Biden is far from just “forgetful.” He had a serious progressive neurological deficit, something that was actively covered up by Democratic leadership and the mainstream press. That doesn’t mean Trump doesn’t have dementia, and the cruel kind. But the days of lying about Biden’s state need to be done, and quickly. |
So it's "we have to choose between a well meaning senile old man and a cruel and vicious senile old man who's obese and probably also has serious cardiac issues" For lack of other choices I'll take the well meaning one, thank you very much. |
Trump's plans and policies are godawful - and anyone who doesn't know about the Heritage Foundation's blueprint for Trump's second term - Project 2025 - needs to get up to speed on it and should be deeply concerned. The posters who have previously mentioned it aren't exaggerating how horrible it truly is. Project 2025: https://www.project2025.org/policy/ Details on impacts: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/06/10/heritage-foundation-project-2025-explained/74042435007/ Some of what would happen with Project 2025: Centralization of Power: The proposal aims to centralize power in the executive branch, potentially undermining the system of checks and balances Politicization of Federal Workforce: Reimplementing Schedule F to replace career civil servants with political appointees could lead to a loss of expertise and independence Erosion of Civil Liberties: The plan includes measures that would roll back civil liberties, such as restricting LGBTQ+ rights and limiting access to reproductive healthcare Undermining Democratic Norms: By bypassing congressional approval for significant policy changes, the proposal could weaken democratic accountability Legal Uncertainty: Many proposed changes could face significant legal challenges, creating instability and uncertainty Impact on Social Safety Nets: The plan seeks to dismantle social safety net programs, which could adversely affect vulnerable populations Authoritarian Tendencies: Critics argue that the proposal promotes an authoritarian agenda by concentrating power and reducing oversight Threat to Public Education: The proposal includes measures to eliminate the Department of Education Economic Inequality: By rolling back regulations and social programs, the plan would exacerbate economic inequality Environmental Concerns: The proposal includes measures that will weaken environmental protections, and harming efforts to combat climate change Healthcare Access: Repealing aspects of the Affordable Care Act and restricting abortion access would reduce healthcare availability for many Americans Cultural and Social Division: The proposal’s attack on civil rights will increase social divisions Impact on Scientific Integrity: Politicizing federal agencies could undermine scientific research and integrity, particularly in areas like public health and environmental science Judicial Independence: The plan’s approach to judicial appointments could threaten the independence of the judiciary Foreign Policy Risks: The proposal’s foreign policy measures could lead to increased international tensions and conflicts Economic Policy: The economic policies proposed will favor the wealthy and corporations at the expense of the middle and lower classes Public Trust: The perceived authoritarian and undemocratic nature of the proposal could erode public trust in government institutions Media and Free Speech: The plan’s approach to media regulation could threaten free speech and press freedoms Long-term Stability: The sweeping changes proposed could lead to long-term instability in government operations and public services |
Have you looked at the polls in recent days? Trump is easily winning all of the battleground states - Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania and so on. Trump is now ahead in deep blue New Jersey and New Hampshire. Reliably blue Virginia is now tied. The generic Congressional ballot has Republicans winning by several points. Biden's disapproval rate is 62 percent and 75 percent of the country think he's unfit to be president. There is no possible way for Biden to win. None. Zero. It is done. Trump and Republicans don't even have to do anything. You'll notice that Trump and others have been completely silent since that disaster of a debate. The nation has seen that Joe Biden is unwell and unfit to be president. And every time other Democrats defend that catastrophe - just a cold; he was tired - they lose more and more credibility. This election isn't about agricultural policy. It is about the sanity and health of the President of the United States. Republicans don't need to say or do anything. Democrats made a catastrophic decision to choose a failing elderly man with dementia and likely Parkinson's as their choice to be president for the next four and half long years. Trump and Republicans are simply reaping the rewards of the colossal arrogance of Democrats. |
I guess you would rather ignore that the polls have not been accurate in a decade, with the Dems outperforming the polls by significant amounts, particularly since Dobbs undid Roe. |
I can’t for one second believe the polls are that stacked against Biden. Look at how the Ds have performed in elections since 2023. Women are incensed, because of Roe v Wade. We have a corrupt Supreme Court. How will Trump win the women vote? Suburbs in swing states? The R platform is terrible. And as far as the polls go, look at what happened in Maryland. Trone was way ahead in the polls and he lost. |
Silent?? Did you see Trumps posts on truth social on 7/4? The man can’t help himself. |
You can also say no one expected Republicans to pick up 4 seats in New York State last time. And typically, Trump always does better than his polling. But trends do matter and are more reliable. And all the trends are going in the wrong direction for Democrats. That is not going to change as long as Biden is the nominee. And Biden is going to lose badly, and as a consequence Democrats will also lose the Senate and House. If you don't like what the Supreme Court looks like now, wait until Republicans have another four years to stack the Court with right wing reactionaries. Anyone that cares about the well-being of America should be demanding the removal of Biden as the nominee. He cannot win and he will take the entire party down with him. |
+1 Democrats were a bit unlucky in that Biden’s steep decline has been spectacularly badly timed, but who didn’t think it would come? Is there *any* 86 year old out there with all the energy and faculties to be a serious president? There are many who are still brilliant or doing good things, but none going at the speed needed or the relentlessness to handle the presidency. Hubris in the most classic sense. |
He was energetic for the campaign and we saw him run and ride bikes. He seemed to be able to handle a lot more than my 84 year old parents. |
