It is insulting to us American voters that we have to choose between a senile old man and a criminal

I'm mad as hell at both of them. On the one hand we have a felon who believes he is above the law and tells outright lies just so he can tell people what they want to hear and whose questionable mental state is displayed in bizarre word salads. On the other hand we have someone bordering on senility who displays extreme selfishness by not preparing the ground for the next generation and who obviously surrounds himself with "yes-men" (and women) who aren't equipped to point out some truths.

To be fair, I look at all the other elections taking place around the world this year and the choice of other countries isn't much better. Apart from the UK, which looks like it's going to ditch a dysfunctional party to start afresh with a moderate and intelligent government.

Not sure I agree about the UK: Brexit has kneecapped them for a generation and no government can undo that disaster quickly.

But everything else, absolutely.

I think the reason why no one is asking Trump to step aside is because it’s obviously futile. He’s a narcissistic, selfish bully. Why the GOP actually support and vote for him though is beyond comprehension.

The US is an oligarchy run by right wing billionaires. They are laughing their asses off at how we are fighting each other while they make more money. Citizens United was the catalyst.

Yes. Citizens United needs to be overturned. First step is to make sure Trump is not elected. Then get SCOTUS nominees who are actual jurists.

No one is asking Trump to step aside because his party by and large supports him. The Democrats, on the other hand, by and large think Biden is not fit to serve another term, but yet he still remains in the race and the people with the power in the party have been reluctant to clearly say he needs to step aside. It’s ludicrous.

I'm glad some people are starting to see this. Our government no longer belongs to the people. This is a dog and pony show. It's a tiny tiny minority of the country that would enthusiastically vote for either of these fools. Most people are rightfully horrified by both options, and yet somehow, these are the only options. How can that possibly be democracy?

Newsom's endorsement says otherwise. The alleged clamoring for Biden to step aside as claimed by "unnamed sources" turns out to be a lie.

It’s not insulting at all. These are two of the candidates that Americans actually voted for in the two parties’ primaries.

I didn’t vote for either of the two main candidates in the primary. I will vote for one of them in the general because one of them will win. My husband will vote for a candidate that will lose.

This is our electoral process in action.

None of this makes any sense to me.

Biden should be doing regular live press conferences to get on top of this awful narrative. That just makes it abundantly clear that he is not up to this campaign…and that the narrative that he’s declining is absolutely true.

Biden needs to resign now.

Why blame this on Biden. Trump could absolutely step aside. Why aren’t you absolutely pissed he’s still running? Why aren’t you furious with the GOP? Biden resign? For flubbing a debate? He’s been a remarkable president.

But let’s say he resigns now. Then what? Kamala becomes president and guess who is next in line if somewhere to happen to her? Speaker Boy Johnson! Because, you see, a new VP would need GOP approval- don’t really think McConnell will seat a new VP?

Stop living in fantasy land. Learn civics, and unless your OK living in Heritage Foundations hell, get active. I’m not fighting hard for Biden to win, I’m fighting hard to keep this country a democracy.

Biden needs to step aside for Kamala Harris. We've been told that she's the future of the Democratic party.

Because at least for now, our votes determine who is nominated and who wins.

By whom?

I’m not a lemming following what some anonymous poster or talking head tells me to do.

So the plan is to hope and pray Biden gets elected, then hope and pray for the opportunity to replace a few conservative justices, then hope and pray we have a majority in the senate, so we can hope and pray to get a nominee confirmed? And if any of those steps of the plan aren't super easy and require zero fight, Democrats will wring their hands and shrug their shoulders saying "Welp we tried. Nothin' we can do."

What votes, when? You mean that pretend primary the DNC just had? NO ONE WANTED BIDEN. People know he's the only option! We have the illusion of choice, not an actual choice.

So you're voting for the person you think will win instead of the person you think has the best ideas, because that person is unlikely to win in our rigged system, and you think this is normal, functioning democracy?
