Finally received scores for my now 6th grader. Cover letter dated Oct 2023 - why does it take so long? |
I'd imagine because the state expects MCPS to deliver these for them. If only they just mailed them out directly it would've been done months ago. |
Yes, just received the 5th grade report for my 6th grader who is of course now two months shy of being a rising 7th grader. Seems pretty meaningless at this point. |
Well, I didn’t think we would get last year’s test results before this year’s MCAP test, but they finally arrived today. I found it helpful to see how DC compared with the school average.
The letter was dated October 2023–can’t believe it took MCPS six months to mail it. |
Or—and I know this sounds crazy—MCPS could mail them when they received the printouts from the state. |
Or the state can just mail them out. Much, much faster. |
Helpful in what way? What changed for you kid or in what their doing in school since you received the report? |
Helpful to acknowledge her kid is above average. |
Well, I received them last night, so nothing has changed in 12 hours. But I think it is helpful to understand that while our school tanked the test, my kid is doing fine. If you don’t think the test results are helpful then ignore the results. |
DP and not poster above PP. "Helpful in what way? What changed for your kid or in what they're doing in school since you received the report?" Let's see, if that parent and other families had received reports 6!!!!!! months ago, then perhaps we would be able to say "what changed for kid" or what needs to change for kid in what they're doing in school. Pathetic, MCPS. |
No, last years 7th grade. |
Same. I think my 6th grader is taking MCAP again soon? I guess at least we got these scores before he takes the next one. |
Still haven't received them. When asked school they were mute. They could have emailed results since apparently they have had results. Heard middle school will take '24 MCAP next month. 8th grade took Science/MISA this Spring. |
MCAP isn't an MCPS thing. It's more of a state issue. You should write your state legislature. |
Huh????? |
