I agree. I think the state should mail the results if they insist on giving the test. |
I got the MCAP results for my kid about a month ago. |
You may not, but parents have a right to know how their kids did. |
Apparently it is not. the state sends MCPS printed and online copies of the report and tells MCPS to send them to families within a month of receipt, which MCPS fails to do each year. |
Since CO doesnt want to send mailings, why doesn't CO advocate to have the state send results directly to families? Cut out the middle dude. Or is it as a poster here wrote - so mcps can fudge the results before sending it to parents? |
Is it the MCAP test that is bring counted for some % of a final class grade? Or a different test? How will this actually work do you know yet? Let's say a kid is taking Geometry and takes the MCAP Math in spring, and with results being sent out much later in the Fall when the student has already started in the next level Math class, how will the end of year test results from previous school year be factored? |
^PP, and if a student is taking Geometry, why should a MCAP math score determine their Geometry class grade when MCAP may test topics other than Geometry? |
You can find a lot of answers to your questions here: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/curriculum/end-of-course-exams-information/ |
The results are pre-fudged. MCAP was some new test designed by the state and apparently has had a lot of issues. |
Who received their kids results this week? |
My 7th grader got hers from 6th grade Thursday or Friday of last week. |
Don't really care since the test is meaningless. It isn't a national test nor has it been properly vetted. |
Got the results for my current 8th grader on Monday. |
Still haven't received them. |
No still haven't |
