Should I care about MCAP in any way, shape, or form?

The report just received from LAST YEAR is a photocopy. Is that norm? Does school keep original report?

Why can't they put them on ParentVue instead of snail mailing them? 21st century.

Should we be concerned that only 4% of Mcps got a 4 on the biology test?

Of course. But Central BOE don't seem to, they have scandals to settle. MCPS ES MS Science is embarrassing.

Nothing about MCAP scores or report from last Spring 2023).
The MAP tests results are viewable on ParentVue a month or after the student takes the MAP-M, or MAP-R and MAP-M tests.

MAP is a test used by MCPS, whereas MCAP is a test required by the state. I suggest you write your representative if you have issues with it.

MCPS has electronic copies of the MCAP results reports for all students. The district could easily upload the reports to ParentVue. But MCPS doesn’t want parents to know how badly their kids did on the test.

Why should they do all this work for the states bad test again?

Direct your question to the state.

I’m not directing any questions to the state. If we’re not getting results I am not spending five days of my kid’s instructional time on these tests. They’re welcome to come for me with whatever enforcement mechanism they have for this.

I think they will just make your kid take the test when they do show up.

My kid knows how to say no.

Your kid knows how to say no … to 20% of their semester grade? I mean, it’s a choice, but …

I received my current 8th grader’s MCAP results from last year. However, I am still waiting on my current 5th grader’s report.

Your kid can refuse to put effort in and I guess get a zero, but kid will at least need to sit there too rnthe required period of time and do nothing.

We’ll figure it out, I am sure.

I recommend caring a lot less about zeros to everyone angsting about not getting these scores—and yet endorsing their kids being forced to go through these bureaucratic exercises over and over.

No,it's a state test that the county doesn't use and is still being debugged.
