This is pretty weird too.

Wow, that's a whole lotta crazy.

Right??? Law enforcement officers who have to watch that type of video evidence do it under pretty extreme circumstances, I’ve read - like the videos are very grainy, they aren’t allowed to see more than X number of videos, they only see them in a certain room, etc. This guy saying he has watched thousands of hours or whatever of these videos is… not okay, and saying he puts his children’s faces on those videos in his head is even weirder. This man really strikes me as a “the lady doth protest too much” type person or whatever the quote is.

That's all kinds of crazy.

The fictitious comic book figure needs a crazy fictitious origin story.

Anonymous wrote:Yet. This is a common propaganda tactic.

Come up with a cause/message that no one would argue with, then reel people in and slowly, subtly, start inserting the REAL message.

It is frequently used with "Support The Troops" and "Save The Animals" and "Help the Children"...no one would argue with those goals and in fact would be criticized for doing so.

But dig deeper and you will find some of these efforts are merely bait.

This exactly. Cult 101 approach

What a dumb conspiracy theory.

No, a dumb conspiracy theory would be child trafficking for blood harvesting.

As a former HSI special agent, I’ll make a couple of comments: I worked and managed child exploitation cases for many years. When I worked there, there were no written rules or policies about reviewing the child porn videos. They didn’t have to be witnessed or monitored. There were no steadfast time limits for working those types of cases (I knew agents that worked them for 10+ years). The agents working those cases and reviewing those videos became good at compartmentaling. Same as a homicide detective or medical examiner.

As far as this new panic/hysteria over human trafficking, I don’t really get it. I’ve noticed that some of my former colleagues who never worked cases at all (out of laziness), have all of a sudden sunken their teeth into human trafficking (even though they had the opportunity to work these cases years ago). It’s like the new fad that I guess gives them job security, the opportunity to travel around the world and attend conferences and pad their resumes for post-HSI (retirement) careers. I understand that any publicity or awareness is great, but what is the general public supposed to do about it. It’s like saying awareness about serial killers is helpful. Sure, but what is John Q Citizen supposed to do? And now we’ve expanded the phrase human trafficker to include pimps. When I worked the street, most prostitutes put themselves out there because they were drug addicts, were down and out or did it voluntarily. Most were not physically forced to do it.

The fact that someone is making money off a movie about such a serious subject makes me so angry. People in the theater munching away on popcorn then saying “wow so powerful” and never actually doing anything. Just ridiculous.

Crickets.

DHS, who allowed them to be separated from their parents, without any decent paperwork, database, traceability or accountability, evidently didn't seem to care if they were trafficked.

DOJ does, though.

There have been many movies made about serious subjects.

Stop pushing. We don't want to see a movie pushed by whack job conspiracy theorists.

Ahh this explains why this nut job Q anon anti vax lunatic I know was promoting this movie on social media. The way she was talking about it, I thought it was a serious documentary and then I found out it was a very fictionalized account of a “true” story, and an action movie.

That can't be; trafficking and child kidnapping are Qanon conspiracies.
