We have an interest in knowing who they were and what their punishment was. "Call the Park Police" is a joke response, they are infamous for their lack of transparency (and brutality)

Are they in custody?

Isn't it outrageous if they're not in custody? They killed three people. Or they're off the hook since the police shouldn't have been chasing them in the first place? I don't understand this at all.

Park Police did not chase when the driver fled the stop.

It's outrageous that we don't know whether they are or are not in custody.

It's tough to get data from USAO but Park Police are next level.

Is this usually public information or is this unique because of Park Police's involvement?

People dragging race into this is baffling to me. Isn’t this much more likely to be an extremely well-connected VIP / ambassador type? Or a famous-for-DC person taking RCP to Beach to Broad Branch on their way home to Chevy Chase?

The vast majority of the driver’s unpaid tickets are from Ward 8.

Right, because those types are likely to run from the police.

The location of the other tickets convinced my I’m wrong on this, but I can easily see that type making a run for it after a few drinks.

I saw this on another forum:

"Simply trying to pay the latest ticket displays plate GS5179. A free plate look-up lists VIN JTJDZKCAXJ2013686. And a free VIN look-up reports 2018 Lexus RX350L AWD 6 Cylinders 3.5L FI DOHC 211 CID. From there, you can contact the DMV, perhaps buy a Carfax report, or ask your cop friend."

Maybe someone can look that up and post it here? We can shame them ourselves if officials and media can't do their job.

This situation is not unusual. Last year this car had 50 tickets for parking and speeding.

I think D.C. keeps owner and address information confidential.

The vehicle now has 49 tickets outstanding. Just type in the license: GS5179.

Was that vehicle responsible for the death of three innocent people? If it were, we would expect to see serious consequences for the owner, not just one article about how it has a bunch of unpaid tickets.

The 16 or so tickets from 12/22 on are annotated:
**A request for adjudication has been submitted on the ticket(s) highlighted above. If you pay those tickets, they will not be adjudicated.
