I think that angle is a bit unfortunate because of how they are holding hands. She did a good job with finding the good angles on the red carpet to carry off the super broad shoulders -- it looks much better here in this solo pic, and in other photos where she's actually posing:

Kimmel did a bit from the audience and you couldn’t miss her sitting like she wasn’t totally blocking the view of 10 people behind her. |
You are right that's what the Fashion Police would have said. They also would have fat shamed a lot of size 8 actresses. That type of fashion criticism has been rightly criticized for constantly asking women to "hide" the natural shape of their bodies in search of an ideal that essentially doesn't exist. You are of course entitled to your opinion, and if you don't like it, that's fine. But what we are saying is that I could care less that this dress makes her look flat chested and straight up and down. In fact, I kind of like that it does -- that is what her body looks like and it's part of her charm, IMO. |
She’s a beautiful woman with a nice figure, but that dress looks like it belongs on an older woman. She has too much going for her to hide under all that fabric. |
Well, given that she got her face blown off by the Taliban, I'm going to give her a pass on that. She gets to choose now. She always did. |
| Halle Berry looks awful, her hair and dress need to go away immediately. |
I love her but I simply wonder at what statement she is making with a half head cover. |
DP and I agree. She looks great from the waist up but the sheath style didn't suit her. |
Yeah wtf -- who are we to tell her to cover her hair?!? |
She changed into the same dress in black before presenting! So strange. |
I really think she has earned the right to practice her religion as she chooses without catty comments. Actually, I don't think she needed to earn that right -- we all have that right. But she's earned a helluva lot more respect from every single person posting here. |
Give it a rest. It looked good whether or not she was making a statement at all. God. |
I would actually love the dress if the slit stopped a couple inches below the roses on the thigh. You can't even really see the roses on the thigh because they are close to her skin color -- it's gorgeous against the white cloth with her skin color, though. And she's one of the few that really does look good in white. |
I’ve never seen her expose this much hair. I assumed this was a show of support for the women of Iran. Malala hit it out of the park. It’s a glamorous look and she’s beautiful. |
| Vanessa Hudgens dress and makeup reminded me of Audrey Hepburn |
