It stands to reason that the Ds will claim that any candidates opposing their candidates are “extremists.”

I hope every candidate gets a fair chance to be heard.

It’s actually good that Moon and McDaniel are back. And perhaps some of the more moderate independents will end up endorsed by the GOP.

MAGAs and their associates are extremists.

Why?

If you're asking the question, there is no answer that you'd accept

DP. Or, perhaps, you traffic in agit prop and can’t handle the possibility that some candidates who aren’t Ds are neither MAGA/Trump supporters nor extremists.

Ok? PP asked about MAGAs

Actually, PP asked about your reference to "MAGAs and their associates."

So explain what you mean by your language, and why you think it matters in an upcoming local School Board election.

We get it, you think that MAGA policies are acceptable and mainstream. You're free to vote for candidates who represent your world view, just don't be surprised when they lose in a blue county

In other words, you can't answer the question, but only use buzzwords and then imply guilt by association.

And I'm trying to find candidates who represent my priorities when it comes to public education in Fairfax County, not my entire "world view."

Good for you. Anyone who has endorsed vouchers or school choice or pressed for investigations into CRT or tried to get books they disagree with pulled from libraries (i.e. MAGA and maga adjacent policies) is someone that I won't vote for. Fortunately, those people are unelectable in Fairfax

The left banned 'Off Mice and Men,' Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,' and Dr. Seuss books. Are they now MAGA adjacent? Interdistrict school choice has existed in FCPS for decades, as well school choice for families with IEPs.

Liar.

The school board does impact those things.

DP here - and for what it's worth I voted straight D since 1999, including McAuliffe. I'm done now though - I'm independent. And definitely not voting for any school board incumbents again.

A bit dramatic. Republicans in Northern VA are considered RINOs around the rest of the state because they are socially liberal, but fiscally conservative. They wouldn't ban those books, only the ones delve into the realm of child pornography and pederasty.

They weren't very thorough, DD's reading group is doing Of Mice and Men, or are you referring to Off Mice and Men which does seem to have been effectively wiped from the internet

For all the talk about R censorhsip - what have the Rs thoroughly banned in FCPS? They are probably still reading Beloved here.

They haven't been elected in Fairfax. If you want to look state wide to see what would happen:

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Shatter Me series of 6 books by Tahereh Mafi (Defy Me, Ignite Me, Restore Me, Shatter Me, Imagine Me, Unravel Me)
Tar Baby by Toni Morrison
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
Sula by Toni Morrison
Love by Toni Morrison
The Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice
Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice
Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson
Empire of Storms by Sarah Maas
Bag of Bones by Stephen King
11/22/63: A Novel by Stephen King
It by Stephen King
Furyborn by Claire Legrand

How is this even a ?

Republicans lied about CRT
They book ban
They want no separation of church and state.

Most importantly they want you money.

School Choice, you all know you pay for that garbage right? And Youngkin will pocket those monies he's already got a plan in place with DeVos for relgious privates to funel monies tool

But hey Virginians were dumb enough to believe his lies so my guess is Virgina is totally ok with becoming Alabama or Arkansaw or Misouri.
