PP. why do I say Madeira packages are out? Did u get one? Courier? UPS? USPS? FedEx? Or are u making it up?
Not PP but we got a Madeira package from USPS at our normal delivery time (around lunch). Good luck!

FWIW, one school was around 3:30, the others precisely at 4.

This is because they want all kids at home. Many stories of parents showing up at carpool with balloons and the good news while other kids were shut out. Good policy.

Anonymous wrote:Wow, times have changed. My sister and I attended two different girls' private schools in NYC. Neither of us got any swag or packages when we were accepted. Just a phone call to our family, followed up by letters.

This bubble of kids gets goodies for everything valentines day, nationals game, international day

Most of the privates in DC do not send goodies, at least not in the rounds my older kids applied.

We got swag packages from most of the schools last year.

This. And they do Friday late to give everyone the weekend to digest the acceptance or rejection.

No they wait until kids are all gone for the day

Ha ha. Classic. I could see parents at our school doing this. People in DC can be so ridiculously tone deaf.

While I would never make such a public display, kids are going to find out at some point if their friends got in some place and they did not, and it's going to sting whether they saw balloons or not.

True but it helps not to stand there and see a big celebration when you got waitlisted or rejected everywhere.

Does Holton only call accepted families?

Not sure. My DD was lucky enough to be accepted. Good luck to everyone!
