We both WFH on Fridays so someone will probably just yell decisions from across the house. We’ve agreed to not obsess over it in front of DD (she’s 4) so we’ll try to turn off the anxiety by 5 to go pick her up.

I feel bad for your kid that you’re both this stressed over this at 4.

My child is also 4, so you are not alone. We are super stressed.

parent of a 5 year old. just wanted to say you are not alone!

Absolutely, stressing just means your invested and care. How would one put all that time and energy into applying for your little one and not be invested in the outcome.

Good for you if you are MAGA + don't care where or if their kids go to school. Others do care. You are on the wrong forum. Go over to the public school or home school threads.

NP who is also concerned about your level of stress on a 4 year old. And yes, I do care where my child goes to school. She attends public in the Whitman cluster so we’re doing fine, thanks!

Me three! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.. At the same time I do understand it'll ultimately be fine. Fingers crossed for everyone.

For what it's worth, I think that's the best cluster in the country. Literally.

I think people are mixing up parent stress and child stress.

My stress about where my child would be going to school was strong last year but my 4 year old was oblivious. I am a planner and I was stressed about what different decisions would mean for us logistically and about the pressure around deciding on the right "fit" for my DC.

You seem like a perfect fit for many DMV privates so perhaps you will hear good news.

+1! This is where some folks see the swag coming!

This is a joke right?

I’m the PP. Not a joke. We have had informed delivery for a few years now. We see what is coming in the mail that day. Last year, some folks posted here that they received notice of a package or letter arriving on the Friday morning that decisions were coming out. Not true for every school, but it can’t hurt to have it.

Yes - super weird MAGA drive-by comment. Whether you are or are not stressed out about school admissions has nothing to do with your political affiliation. Oddest comment in a while.

Yeah right. No normal kid is signing up to go to school in a Chinese-owned sweatshop.

You have not been outside of your bubble in awhile. They are plenty of better places/schools.

Lots will change as your children grow. Don’t assume getting into a K-12 means you’re set till then.
