With Whittle closed what would even be the point of independent school?

We both WFH on Fridays so someone will probably just yell decisions from across the house. We’ve agreed to not obsess over it in front of DD (she’s 4) so we’ll try to turn off the anxiety by 5 to go pick her up.

I feel bad for your kid that you’re both this stressed over this at 4.

Okay. I am stressed, sure, but I think I’m more excited than stressed. We are applying for PreK so the stakes are fairly low (though I would love to not do this again next year), but it’s exciting to think about where our kid might go to school for the next 14 years. Anyway, I hope I have provided you some small benefit by giving you a reason to be snotty to a stranger on the internet.

NP here. Excited is different from stressed. Don't blur that line! UMC DMV parents make that mistake all the time. It's killing our kids.

Sign up for informed delivery with the Post Office so that if they mailed something, you could possibly see it coming at 7am when the USPS send the notification for what's in your mail for that day.

It's been about 18 years since we went through this. On the Thursday before, DH got a call from a friend who had put in a word. The HoS called the friend and let him know and soon after the friend called DH. Now guessing that this friend may have put in a word for others and the HoS had a list.

So we knew the night before even though there were some DCUM posters who insisted that was absolutely not possible.

Go away. You're not helpful.

I’m hoping for Basis. Hope they let my kid in. Will pick Basis over STA, Sidwell, GDS in a heartbeat. So nervous…

Your kid will get in. Desperate school running radio ads. Everyone who applied will get in.

Many of my friends' kids are hoping for BIM. Given the rigor, kids self-select for the school. So, the acceptance rate is higher than some other top schools but that is because only the most motivated, academically serious kids apply.

They'll all get on.

Heads up: once you open the decision page for a school in Ravenna, it will indicate that the decision has been read, so if your child asks you to wait to look at decisions in Ravenna together, but you can't wait and check without them, Ravenna will show you've already looked...

I’m not nervous because I don’t expect my child to get in. Applying for 4th.
