2027 Girls Lacrosse

I wonder if Stars is hiring the former Pride Loudon coach to coach the new stars/Pride Loudon team.

That would be something! She's a very good coach and the kids love her.

Did KM refund the money? I thought Pride needed that money to pay for fall tournaments. Very peculiar that Pride would disband a team and refund/forgo the $$ vs finding a new coach.

Sounds like club 1) established the team and took in all the money up front and then 2) fired the Cavs coach that brought that team over to organization in the first place but ONLY AFTER all tryouts for other clubs had taken place. Certainly seems like that sequence was intentional - and puts dozens of girls in limbo the year before they enter high school. Nice.

If that's what happened, then that is really messed up. I would be so angry if that happened to my kid's team.

Did Pride Red get new HC?

Any reasons why this happened?

It's going to be very interesting to see how Capitol 2027 shakes out. BLC and Pride obviously will be most of what that time is made up of. I expect them to be top-5.

last weekend Pride Red lost to Heros green 9-3 and BLC lost to heros Green 7-4. If you took the best players from pride and added them to BLC, I am sure that could have made a 3 goal difference. Stars on the other hand lost to Coppermine 11-3, so the predictions of the capital 27 team being mostly BLC and pride players makes sense.

Shhhh, don't tell the Stars parents that!

Stars is well behind BLC and Pride and the NGLL scores this spring will bear that out. This is not a secret.

You dads are going to pissed when the best player from Metro or MC Elite or whatever makes Blue and your kid is on orange (or heaven forbid, goes to another team). I would bet obscene amounts of money that the parents of the best players on BLC and Pride (who I assume will make Blue) are not the ones anonymously propping up two awesome teams by crapping on a team that they consistently beat (assuming that's true). The capital blue teams have kids from every program, a majority of which are usually from Pride, no matter how much you want it to be different.

If your kid was that good you wouldn't be on here dumping all over teams that aren't as good as the team your kid made in 3rd grade. There is a good chance I'm wrong and you're a pyscho but c'est la vie!

Katie fired the coach because, according to Katie, she wasn't pulling her weight as a director. Parents and players were very upset with Katie over the firing and the events that transpired in the weeks following the firing. Including poor communication, kicking girls off the team, and straight-up shady shit. Most of the girls left so the team was disbanded. The girls that stayed were offered spots on other pride teams including Red Nova. The girls who left ended up in St. James and will not be playing in the NGLL. They will play some other spring games and some summer tournaments.

Whatever the reason, unless the coach did something truly horrible, she should’ve fired her after the season. That would’ve saved the kids and everyone a lot of heartburn. Didn’t really think that one through or just didn’t care. She put the kids in a bad spot.

Katie is nuts. This is her standard MO. And know Pride 27 Red Nova parents upset cause a bunch of new girls join the team with a large roster and add in a 2029 girl joining the team for NGLL. Pride is a mess right now. Trouble with 2028 team dynamic as well. Katie is going to lose control here.

Agree it’s a mess. If someone could run a half decent travel program in NoVA, they could have a ton of success. I think Stars with the new head of programming and the St. James indoor facility could be the next club kids migrate towards. They could make a resurgence in the coming years. Pride is on the slow decline unfortunately. Lots of good marketing but not much is delivered. Glad my daughters are almost out.
