We traded for an American citizen being held in an oppressive regime. Period. None of the other factors as to what you think of her worth and a human or her trade value matter.

If you don't think that republicans will make hay over choosing Griner over Whelan or over trading an arms dealer for Griner, you haven't been paying attention.

This is very unhinged from reality, including the actual timeline of when Griner entered in Russia. And no one with a brain in their head thinks Whelan was working for the USG.

Whelan is not part of the deal. Obviously,. Griner was the popular choice. And. While I happy that she is free, it was her ok em stupid that out her where she was. There is nothing heroic about her. It is sad that she is a now a martyr and will cash in $$$$$$$! Stupidity pays well for her

They do matter but she is the popular political choice.

That's a lot of words. But fairly incomprehensible.

You don't like her. You don't find her worthy of rescue. We got it. No one said she was a hero. Or didn't act stupidly. She's still an American and is every bit worthy of being brought home as anyone else.

Apparently she's more worthy

Strange that Paul Whelan's family appreciates Griner's release more than Republicans do:

Do you expect them to attack the Biden administration? They still need the state department to get him home. I'd wait until he's home believing what they say is how they really feel

Look at the Repugs upset that an American citizen was freed.

They would have criticized Biden if he left her there just as much as when he brings her home. Biden can’t care about what they think because they are always going to criticize whatever he does.

Why would they hide it because as is it makes Biden look like an idiot

Seriously. You can see who they thing the "real" Americans are. And who they aren't.

Sad, small minded jerks.

Yup. They’d rather that nothing happened which was the alternative.

I’m not overly enthused with the seemingly flippant, masculine energy she exudes in those stone faced pictures we’ve all seen of her, but it’s nice to get an American returned home.
