TJ class of 2022 college destinations

Biggest things I notice is the increase at Maryland (21), the decrease to Michigan after last year, Pitt at only 5, only 7 to VT (a STEM focused in state school), which is lower than VCU or GMU. Pretty high numbers to UVA (49) and W&M (26) - probably the higest or near highest of all schools in the state.

We know several TJ ivy admits who chose to go to other schools for scholarships. Some other students selected in-state schools only so as to not burden themselves and their families with debt. It actually makes me respect these TJ students even more as they are not picking schools just for the name.

Huh. Looking at the list, then why are 49 heading there and only seven to Tech?

Because VA Tech sucks just as badly as UVA and lowered ranked than even UVA. The bottom 10% at TJ attends VA Tech.

All 3? There are 5 service academies.

This list puts Sidwell's list to shame.

There are a lot more students than Sidwell. And Sidwell kids will, by nature, gravitate to SLACs rather than large state flagships and places like MIT.

Kind of odd Sidwell's college placement is not very good considering all the potential connections their students' parents have for college admissions.
