What the hell is wrong with you? There are poor girls in HS whose family cannot consistently afford period products. Or has abusive or addicted parents who do not provide them with the basics of life. They end up missing school BECAUSE of their period - it's actually one of the main causes of truancy for teen girls. Giving them cheap pads so they remain in class absolutely benefits society in the long-run. It's not the teen girl's fault she has poor parents, or parents who make terrible financial decisions. |
I have never seen this proposed. What have have seen proposed is that period products shouldn’t be taxed. |
Who was that from, a scam PAC? |
Interesting that the alternative ticket does not scare you more. I would rather the government spend a few measly bucks helping the underprivileged than propping up the Trump family assets so he can avoid bankruptcy. |
It sounds like you’re extrapolating from “let’s remove barriers to education for kids” to “everyone will now expect to have basic needs handed to them without effort.” What sort of effort are you wanting kids to make? Should kids be punished for being unlucky enough to have poor parents? |

This shows the previous posters complete lack of empathy. She probably thinks 13 year olds girls should be washing dishes part time at the local diner to buy pads. |

New topic: what is the best way to volunteer to register new voters or another way to help the campaign. My friend asked me to make phone calls with her but I just dont think that is effective. I'm a working mom but can make time after hours or the weekends.
Also, I am in Maryland which is probably a slam dunk for the Dems but if there is a way for me to help other states from afar, that would be great. In addition to donating $ of course. |
That tracks with the republican push for removing barriers against child labor. |
They also emphasized the dad analogy with Tim Kaine. https://www.npr.org/2016/07/28/487714714/twitter-just-turned-vp-nominee-tim-kaine-into-your-dad |
Are PTAs schools running voter registration drives for seniors who are eligible? Maybe you could do that? Or volunteer to help drive people to polls? |
What is wrong with you? THIS is an issue for you? Removing sexist barriers the affect poor girls and young women? Because you’re afraid of . . . What exactly? Shame on you. |
Wow way to miss the point!! |
My point flew right over your head; you are so triggered by anyone who doesn’t think in lockstep with you. |
