Absolutely agree. And so many fronting like Johnny’s avenging angels wtf? It’s clear he was/is an alcoholic and an addict who was prone to violent rages and who behaved beyond unprofessionally on set until Disney couldn’t take it anymore. Because all that proves is Amber Heard is not a "perfect victim." This case is about whether he in fact abused her, and it's quite clear he did. I thought Io's testimony, which was extremely complimentary of Depp when he was sober, was persuasive, as well as the taped testimony from the friends who witnessed JD being upset and scary in front of them, and I found AH's sister totally relatable.

I hope AH wins on the counterclaim. Given what she knew, AH tried not to ruin JD's life or make a fuss, and she could have sought more money from him for the divorce (she says more than 4x more), and not pledged any of it to charity let alone all of it. I hope she wins the countersuit. All of the hate from JD fans/supporters has got to be pretty difficult, emotionally. I hope she gets catharsis.

I've never watched JD movies, and haven't ever been into him or followed his career. He sounds like a drunk and a drug addict. But this trial isn't about how sweet he is or isn't. The evidence as presented has shown that SHE was abusive and while he likely was too, much of what I've heard from his team is that he spent a good deal of time hiding in bathrooms and trying to get away from her, while she's sitting there alleging all kinds of DV with no real evidence of injury. NO medical reports, police reports, even photos of swollen noses? She could take all those photos of him passed out, photos of broken things, stuff scribbled on mirrors, etc. But she never took a clear photo of her swollen nose and the subsequent black eyes from it? Makeup artists are putting makeup on her the next morning and saying they saw NOTHING on her face? She's just not believable, simply because she claims she is. There must be some burden of proof, even with DV. Often times, the burden of proof reveals itself during the police response or medical report. Or the actual broken nose in the morning. In this case, there are none.

So, yeah, I'm not on JD's team necessarily, because I think they're both nuts. I'm just not on her side and question why I should be expected to be just because she's claiming DV -- with no real proof. I'm so over this whole MeToo movement notion that as long as a woman claims harassment or DV, she is to be believed. The only thing we know about that is that his finger was severed in a drunken drug fueled fight with Amber. Both have told different versions of what happened. Both were unreliable narrators due to their drug and alcohol use. We know he acted insanely in the aftermath, painting threats to her in his own blood. And we know that only one them had documented threats of the desire to physically harm the other.

What about AH being recorded stating that she hit him. What about the psychologist who said it was mutual abuse with JD retreating and AH pursuing? Absolutely agree. And so many fronting like Johnny’s avenging angels wtf? It’s clear he was/is an alcoholic and an addict who was prone to violent rages and who behaved beyond unprofessionally on set until Disney couldn’t take it anymore. I personally think the truth lies somewhere in the middle of these two unlikable people, and cannot believe so many believe Johnny is some kind of an angelic victim. It’s sick.

I also agree! People are saying how likable he is and how horrible she is. The guy sent texts talking about burning and killing her. He's an unstable drug addict who definitely verbally abused her and probably wouldn't even remember if he hit her based on how messed up he was during the recordings. Also, I'm sick of people saying "why did she record their fight?", "She was setting him up!" in domestic abuse if you don't document the incidents, people are not going to believe you. That is the ONLY thing being proven by this case. She's definately messed up too, but he's the one dragging this out and is set on publicly humiliating her.

How can anyone support this guy after seeing his texts? Those are seriously sick. While I think AH also abused him and likely lied or at least exaggerated, there is no way you can convince me he is not a domestic abuser after seeing these. Normal men don’t talk like this. What about AH being recorded stating that she hit him. What about the psychologist who said it was mutual abuse with JD retreating and AH pursuing? I'm not saying they both aren't guilty, I just don't get why people are so keen on dismissing AH abuse towards Johnny - and her recorded statements that he wouldn't be believed if he spoke about what she'd done.

Because all that proves is Amber Heard is not a "perfect victim." This case is about whether he in fact abused her, and it's quite clear he did. But apparently a small group of sexist harpies feel her injuries were not severe enough. Because what's a few bruises, injured nose, busted lip, and repeatedly being screamed at and called a c*nt? I mean she didn't need to go to the HOSPITAL after all.

Yes, the perfect victim fallacy is very tough for women to overcome, exactly why so many women don't come forward with their stories of abuse.

Strikes a cord with me because my STBX used to threaten me with violence on top of horrible verbal and emotional abuse. When I shared it with his family, including recordings, their response was, “Well, he didn’t actually cut you I to pieces and feed you to the dog”. I was labeled “hysterical”, “dramatic”, and they’ve accused me of trying to tear their family apart. And if he had killed me they would have likely blamed me - “She didn’t leave when he threatened her.” Interestingly, it’s the women in his family - mom and sister - who are the most vicious. His father has expressed his sympathy and been really kind and apologetic.

You cannot win as a woman abuse victim. Period. This case is. Sad reminder of it.
